This lantern rocks! It's blindly bright and the innovate rotating trio of light blades makes this ignite a space anywhere from 180 degrees to 360. It is rather big, and the placement of the buttons is nothing short of stupid. The on button is right below the lights so you cannot be looking at the button when you push it. And the USB port mimics the on button but directly on the other side.

Other than that, this lantern is excellent. It has a useful battery indicator, and a great hanging attachment.

Compared to either traditional corded flood work lights, or work light flashlights, this lantern is so much better. While it doesn't replace a spot light it does really make a tremendous uniform light in a room-sized workspace.

I've had 12Volt, 14.4 volt and 18 volt lights that come with my cordless kits, I use them all the time. I also have an LED trouble light at my shop. None of them has had the perfect combination of brightness, color and battery life that I'd like - until now. This Milwaukee M12 lantern may look small, but it packs a punch in light output.

A few weeks ago I picked this up because I have M12 tools in my home garage and I've never had a light to go with them, and I needed something for temporary light on projects around the house.

Look out Makita and Bosch - this light might be the tool that causes me to dump your 12V tools and just stick with Milwaukee M12 across the board. This is the best portable light I've used so far. It is fantastic. I've been using it with my M12XC battery, and after a couple hours it still shows 4 bars.

Why do I like it? - First, it's bright - but not bright in a bad way like most LED lights - it's not blindingly bright when you look near it, like my rechargeable LED trouble light is, but it will light up a room. It's also a very pleasing color of light - not green or blue like some LED's, just a very pleasant, white light. There are actually three levels of brightness, from you could use it as a lighthouse bright, to enough light to get dressed by.

It also has a neat selector that allows you to throw light in only one direction like a floodlight, or in a 360 degree arc around the light, lantern style. This is a very handy feature. It also has the Milwaukee battery charge meter plus a USB charging port - which I haven't tried yet. It has a nice hook on top so you can hang it up in a tent or a room .

Puts out great light in three different intensities. Also, an I think this is neat - the three bulbs, with a twist of a knob, can all face one direction so that it puts more light in that direction and this also keeps the light out of your eyes. Or, with the twist of the knob, the bracket holding the three bulbs inside moves, so the three bulbs are facing three different directions putting out a full circle of light. I haven't used it long enough to see how the batteries last yet.
