Less than 2 weeks old and already rust under "stainless steel" lid. There's a plastic insulator inside the lid held on by a nut opposite the ball on top of the lid. Moisture from pouring/cleaning gets between the plastic insulator and top and can't be dried or evaporated without disassembling the top. I didn't know there was water present but when I shook water from the strainer I could hear water sloshing and at first couldn't figure where the sound was coming from. Then I saw the plastic insulator. When I pried at the edge of the insulator, water ran out. So, I removed the ball top and the screw on the inside of the lid and when I removed the insulator, the entire inside of the lid is covered with rust. A "MADE IN CHINA" quality product. Think twice before buying this one. Going back right away and I'll try buying a better press. Made tasty coffee though.

Sorry I bought this, it is very low-end! Plastic inside lid, water gets up in there, the plunger cleaning is difficult all the pieces fall apart! Spend more and get a quality French press.

Good but not great. The Bodum one I have is better all around (thicker glass, steel, etc). Its also more expensive. This does just fine for an extra on weekends. I use the other during the week leaving it at the office.

Update: Unimpressive. Rusting terribly.

I always bought the french presses for sale at my local big box store. But after my last one bit the dust I decided to venture out and see what Amazon had to offer. I should have done this a long time ago. This press is the best I've ever used. The screen does an excellent job of keeping a tight seal and the top of the lid doesn't shimmy around and doesn't feel loose when you pour. You don't even need to hold the top with your hand when you pour it sits so well. Buy this one, it's solid. I haven't found any negative things its a really good product, good price, and VERY WELL packed.
I recommend this seller and the product to one and all, especially to all coffee drinkers. It makes then best coffee ever,
much the way the cowboys did it....
but keeps them grounds out, never bitter or oily, I Can make it as strong as you want! Now I won't go back to my old coffee maker! Love the extra bonus screens...!

This is the best French Press that I have had. It's sturdy and the plunger is nice and snug so no grounds come through the sides. It's easy to clean without putting in dishwasher. If anything happens to this one I will purchase another.

I really like this French press set. It is a super attractive set and I love the way it looks on my coffee bar! I have used this bad boy a couple times now and while I normally wait at least a week to review something I liked this one enough that I wanted to comment before I forgot all the things I liked (and I can always go back and edit my review later!)

The box itself is nicely packaged on the inside so even though I gave it a thorough inspection I cannot find any chips or cracks anywhere on the press or two glasses. Of course inevitably someone is going to receive one that is damaged in transit I am willing to bet that many that would have been shipped or cracked for mishandling are saved by the inner structure and bubble wrap of the box. The glass itself is fairly thin so that I am concerned that I personally will end up hurting it on accident, but it is nice that it doesn't weigh a lot with a thick glass.

The metal on the press and glasses is nice and attractive and shiny but I was concerned about it rusting after reading through some reviews so I have pre-treated the metal on mine to prevent that from happening. Hopefully the manufacturer can take this feedback from it's customers and add a coating to the metal to prevent this for other customers. The inside pieces are easy to disassemble and clean but it is kind of hard to reassemble after it had fully dried.

The extra filters provided is a nice touch too! All in all, this is my first experience with a French press and I think if I treat it nicely it should last me a long time (IE, I need to stop letting my little girls do the pressing probably lol). I am very happy with it as a whole and am excited to serve some guests coming into town this weekend with my fancy new setup!Read more ›

This is a beautiful set and as soon as I get some coarse ground coffee I will be serving coffee from this set to my guests...there is just something wonderful about the taste of coffee made in a french press. One of the things I do is heat the water up in a 2 cup glass measuring cup by pyrex in the microwave (about 3 minutes) and then add that water to the grounds in the french press. This shortens the prep time instead of boiling the water on the stove and I always have an accurate measurement for the amount of water used to make that perfect cup of coffee.
