At First Glance
When I first opened the package from UPS I have to admit I was a little scared I had bought a toy or perhaps they had sent me the wrong item. I'm happy to say that it's just a reminder of the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover".

Assembly
Assembling this thing was extremely easy. I'm not sure how anyone could not figure it out really. The only part that was a little tough was placing the string on the bow. I'm sure there's some technical name for it. For that I placed the pistol grip on my stairs. I pushed down on either side and my wife strung the bow as I held it. And the only reason why it was a little tough was because she was trying to string it backwards and I had to tell her repeatedly how to do it.

Use
TAKE EXTRA CAUTION... When you place an arrow on this thing if you press the safety release to hard forward you can fire this thing. I'm sure it's some kind of design flaw but you could end up shooting someone if you're not paying attention. I know because I dried fired it by mistake. So when you go to release the safety always have it pointing in a safe direction. I fired this thing about six times at a piece of 1/4" plywood I had. About five of the six times I fired it the arrow went halfway through the piece of plywood. I was impressed how much power it has. I was standing about 20' back. Just to give you an idea.

Overall
Overall you really get your money's worth. Even if you end up buying a new string for it just remember you only paid 25 bucks for the darn thing. I took some pictures and I will post them as soon as I get back home. I hope this review helped you out a bit. If you have any questions just place a comment.

I gave this item 4 stars only because the directions are lacking and the sights are a little on the cheap side. Other than that, awesome item. One thing to keep in mind about a crossbow is they require a lot of maintenance. This is in no way a toy either. When assembling the crossbow, point the crossbow straight up, place rubber pad, place the bow, then place the other rubber pad, then the metal plate, then tighten the set screw down. I was able to string the bow myself using my knee and the floor... not gonna try and explain how haha but it's possible to string the crossbow yourself..
-Strings-
You will need to use bowstring wax often (like all archery bows). The string that comes with it comes dry and WILL fray and fail shortly if not properly maintained. I notice the that where the string catches the trigger mechanism is prone to wear from firing, but i remedy this with about an inch worth of masking tape wrapped around the center of the bowstring (and replace as often as it gets worn). i also put heat shrink around the brass "hook" parts that pull the string during cocking, basically little things to prolong the life of the strings. So far, i'm able to get countless firings from a single string.
-Bow and frame-
Use rail lube often on your crossbow. It decreases friction that can effect your crossbows performance as well as wear and tear on the string. Monitor the front set screw.. As a crossbow generates a lot of vibration when fired. I usually give the bow iself a jiggle after a few shots and retighten as often as needed (Don't overtighten!). I keep the included allen key, bowstring wax, rail lube, and a little masking tape, and a small screwdriver together with the arrow bolts.
-Sights-
Sights could be better.

Just bought it and made a small modification. I took a two black rubber hex bit holders that i had in my tool box and used it to hold 18 bolts. I did have to melt the edges of the holes a little so the bolts would fit snug in there but it looks great and you would never know that it didn't come like that out of the box. I also added a red dot laser and a tactical 5 position short grip....it looks like a beast. I also made a compartment in the short grip for an extra bow string.

I'm a hotheaded fresh 18 year old who is finally acting on all of the years of yearning to own a lethal weapon, and I'm definitely not regretting my purchase whatsoever.

I recently purchased a very cheap(but still more expensive than this tank) pistol crossbow that was a generic brand and was made of plastic. After it cutting into my hand with every draw, and then literally every piece except for the prod falling or breaking off, I was discouraged, until I found this nice little piece of controlled danger.

With a little sighting in, this pistol crossbow can easily group within 6" shooting from 20 yards for me, who has never picked up a stringed weapon in his life, and who hasn't shot a rifle in years. There's a reason that the crossbow began to replace the traditional bow all those centuries ago; anyone can pick it up and use it efficiently within a couple of hours of practice.

Aside from being fun, it provides me with a little sense of safety when I stay home alone as I often do. I have heard of recent break ins in my neighborhood, and this is about as close to a firearm as you're going to get. Now when someone decides they want to steal my things, the only thing they're leaving with is an aluminum bolt 3 inches into their thigh. I don't doubt for a moment that this could kill someone in one well-placed shot, which brings me to my next piece of review...
THIS IS NOT FOR CHILDREN.
IN ANY WAY.
EVER.
Seriously, don't do it. No matter how good or mature your 14 year old seems, this is not a toy. If fired wrong, at the wrong objects, around the wrong people, this thing can and will inflict serious damage.
