I am a 62 y/o man with a bit of a belly, wanted a comfortable fitting shirt to wear swimming and keep from getting sun burned. This works. If you are looking for a tight fitting shirt to wear for athletic activities, this was not it. I also like the V-neck which is not common in this type shirt.

Several months ago I purchased several similar shirts with the intention of dual use : first layer under fleece for the local "winter" and more commonly as sun protection in the spring and summer months. AMZ popped this up for me with an attractive price so I gave it a shot on a whim. (easy returns after all)

As an underlayer, I'm not super happy with this shirt - it doesn't seem to "wick" moisture away very well. But it's also thick enough to insulate a little - unlike some of the others I have. But that's not the intention of the manufacturer anyway, so it's all good.

The left sleeve has markings for "UV BLOCKTHEBURN" which I interpret as recognition of Speedo's intention for this to be a sun protective garment. I think there was some on-tag marketing about it, but I tossed that all long ago so can't confirm.

Regardless, as sun protection I'm 100% satisfied. After getting a bit burnt a couple days prior I spent several days at an outdoor music festival. I didn't get burned any worse, and this shirt was by far my favorite. (I liked the others too, but not as well, and they cost 2x to 4x more!) The sleeves are long enough to easily cover the back of my hands, and the fabric is soft enough to not hurt irritated skin.

The thin & clingy fabric, plus the relatively slim fit on my frame (which I 100% wanted) sometimes results in the outline of my not-at-all substantial nipples being visible at times. Much more so than "normal" shirts I wear, but not as much as some competitors. Be aware before you buy if that's an important issue for you.

Style-wise, I think it's a little too technical to wear into some "casual" establishments without sticking out.Read more ›

Great fabric but rough stitching under the arms and on the back seem like they would scratch if wearing this at the beach. The Medium size shirt was also too loose and baggy. I didn't need tight, just tighter.

Excelent product. I bought one for my husband and sons. Used during trip to Central America. Perfect for beach, mountains etc. Light weight, easy dry and UV protection. I would buy a size smaller unless overweight and likely 2 sizes smallest if intented for women. Avoid it if you have short arms
