I have several guitars, from a cheapo I bought just for fun, to a higher end model I bought when I decided to get more serious. Of course, I noticed that the more expensive guitar was much easier to play from the start due to the better craftsmanship and setup. I was never much for judging the curve in a neck, so I thought I'd give this a try. I wish I'd done it a long time ago. You just slap it on the neck, look for the gap, and make slight adjustments to the truss rod. I even realized I was adjusting the wrong way on one of my guitars. Now all of my guitars have low action and play like never before. The only negative about the straight edge is that the corners and edges are somewhat sharp, so just be careful.

If you're buying a cheap guitar to start out, this would be a great accessory. Having a properly set-up guitar can make learning a lot easier.

This is a must have for any serious guitar owner. Neck bow either up or down is important to detect accurately, even if you don't want to adjust it yourself. I recently took on doing a complete set up on my new Les Paul and found the neck was factory spec flat. By using this I was able to see the exact amount of up bow I wanted. Otherwise, I would have had to guess. Have to admit that after the set up went really well. Best guitar I've ever played. It's a good idea to put something white on the other side of the neck with good light and site straight across the neck. Check both the treble, bass, and middle and look at both ends too, you may discover a twisted neck. Works on both Fender and Gibson type neck lengths.

Great product and a great price. I've been using this in combination with my new fret sander and the difference in play-ability is amazing. Why don't they do this at the guitar store? Oh well, it doesn't matter because you can buy one of these and never worry about it again. Straighten out your neck, level your frets, and drop that action!

I purchased this tool to assist me in setting up my D18 and Les Paul. I've never had a good eye for judging the straightness of a guitar neck and this tool immediately told me what my eye could not. It's helping me save tons of dough by performing set ups on my guitars myself. I would highly recommend it; great quality product and accurate!

Nice stuff, well machined and very useful. I'm going over mine with super fine sandpaper, melting the sharp edges and putting a nice finish on it, just because. Well worth the price, and a very useful basic luthier tool.

Straight as an arrow, exactly what I needed for a particularly involved fret-leveling job. End result was the best-playing acoustic guitar that's come off my bench. I now use this thing for every guitar I work on. The fret rocker is excellent, too. I use it constantly.

Very useful tools, high-quality make and materials, great price. Totally recommended.

It really is a great tool for pro's and beginners.. It really HELPS figuring out problems on your guitar..
If you tinker with guitars, this is a must have... You could actually make this, But at this price,, Why wouldn't you just buy it..
--- My only issue with it is.. Its kind of sharp edged.. and the corners are sharp as well,, Im pretty sure the 8 corners of the tool DO NOT need to be pointy to work correct --- That being said,, always work slow and careful ... IM SANDING THE CORNERS ROUND
--- NICE Material.. Seems Ligit..
