Ok, I don't normally write reviews but I bought this in CVS after like 3 fever blisters broke out. This has happened since I was a kid whenever I get super stressed. This time, ( I blame the cold weather) My lips have been sore and raw for like a month. I tried this stuff and my lips healed in 2 days. Maybe its just a chance happening but the product instantly soothed my lips and completely healed them. Wish I got my hands on this earlier. Great Product.

I've suffered from cold sores for years, and am always looking to try a new product. Carmex is a known name and I figured it was worth a try. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.

The product is a thick, white cream (apply with a Q-tip to prevent re-infection). I realize that nothing "cures" cold sores, so being that this is an analgesic, I was hoping it would have numbing properties. It does not feel like much of anything--no numbing or cooling sensation, no moisturizing effects. It dries sort of white and flaky, which is quite unattractive while I'm at work.

I will not buy this again. Use regular Carmex or another product instead.

It numbs the cold sore, but for me did not slow the growth or stop the spread of my cold sore. When using it my cold sore became angry and spread from the corner of my mouth across my entire bottom lip. I do not know if it was just my cold sore in general, or if this product contributed to the issue. I had to cancel my booked dentist appointment due to embarrassment and fear of the blisters cracking open and becoming worse. My dentist told me they have a machine to zap cold sores when the tingle starts, and they never develop. Maybe your dentist has one too?! Good luck!

Does not speed up the healing process. The only thing it did for me was stop the tingling and it leaves this light yellow crust so it's obvious that you have something on your lips.

Did not work for me. It made it worse. But, it helped when the cold sore was in the dried-up stage and cracking. It softened it.
