My overall take is this: If you are on a diet, needing chips, and you grab these, I imagine you will be disappointed (and maybe crave the Lays more!). If, however, chips are a rarity for you and you don't bite into these expecting them to be the chips you are accustomed to eating at lunch a few days a week, you'll probably like them. Definitely try a bag before you try a case.

I have only had the Sour Cream and Onion, but I will be trying them all. They are packed with protein and calcium (although they lack significant quantities of almost everything else). They also taste pretty good even though the taste is much more subtle than a regular chip--don't expect a super strong flavor. The texture is also a little bit different. These are puffed a little bit, they are lighter, and they have more air pockets than potato chips. They also have a thinner, more brittle texture. All-in-all, though, their texture is pretty satisfying.

As I transitioned my diet to a more nutrition-focused diet, I had eaten Special K Cracker Crisps as a chip replacement from time-to-time. They probably had a better taste and texture than these, but they offered almost no nutritional benefit (other than calories). These have about the same calories with excellent protein content. Not only will these be my new go-to for chip cravings, but they will also be something I add to try to sneak in a little more protein. (It's always awesome to find something new you enjoy that is also nutritious, right?!)

Update: The BBQ chips have a better and stronger flavor.

These are fantastic. Blended potato mixed with whey, flavored just like the bag says. Sure, they're blander than regular chips and the texture is a bit funky, but the nutritional value is unbeatable. I like this flavor the best. 5 out of 5, will buy again. Haters gonna hate.

The best foods for you aren't always the ones that taste great. Personally, I think Quest did a great job here. They are cleaner than the bars, and crunchy with high protein, low carbs...as well as low fat, sugar, etc. They taste 1,000 times better than a Lays Baked years ago when I tried them. If you eat to live, you'll get this product.

If you are expecting Lays, you are going to be disappointed. However, the cheese flavor is quite good and the texture is crunchy just like a real potato chip. I wouldn't eat these every day, but they are pretty good. Hint: they are MUCH cheaper on Quest's website as of Dec. 2014.

Really great chips considering the nutritional value. They are very light and crispy and, for the most part, taste like normal potato chips. Yes, they aren't the perfect potato-y taste, but they're darn close and for only 5 carbs and 21 protein, I'll be buying these - or one of the other flavors - again.

I saw a lot of complaints about the flavor of these chips. They are NOT Potato chips by a long shot. But if, like me, you are on a low carb diet and will not be having any chips it is a nice substitute. My husband and I had lower expectations going in, so maybe that is helpful. You get a definite aftertaste of the protein. They are nicely crunchy and the BBQ flavor is there for sure. We enjoy them because they are very filling, we can get a nice crunchy snack, and they are comparatively low in carbs. Again you will get the protein flavor but if you expect that, they are not bad and pretty good price for most of the low carb options. I would not want to try the seat salt only ones or any without a lot of flavoring added. These are also pretty nice in a dip. again covering up that aftertaste.

These aren't for everyone...I ordered the salt and vinegar flavor and they taste good at first, but there's an after taste that reminds me of styrofoam. As you're chewing it doesn't completely dissolve in your mouth, and you're left with these small flakes in your mouth that are tasteless and hard to get rid of. Eating a bag requires force feeding and is not pleasant. I even gave a bag to my roommate who will eat anything because he's cheap. It took him four hours to eat it and didn't finish. He threw away most of it, but tried very hard. I'm very disappointed because they don't resemble any chip I've ever had, lays, ritz, ruffles, pringles, or otherwise. I'd rather eat a bag of saltine crackers. I'd rather submit myself to watching hours and hours and Tim and Eric's Awesome show. And then repeat it.

These are not what I expected from protein chips. Most protein chips I've tried are pretty dense and heavy, but these are light and a little puffy. They feel a bit more like eating regular potato chips (probably because they do contain dried potatoes). The texture is a definite plus.

The BBQ taste is all right, not the same as Lay's or anything, but for a "healthier" sort of option, it's pretty good. Sodium is a little high at 230 mg (10%) per serving. Thankfully, one bag is one serving so there's no ambiguity there. These are really low in fat and have no fiber, so you'd really need to eat them as part of a meal containing other foods, as well. One bag has 120 calories.

These are gluten-free and soy-free but are not vegan (contain milk and whey protein isolates). The milk-derived ingredients is probably why these also have a fair amount of calcium (15%).

Overall, I was quite happy with these chips. I'm impressed that the manufacturer could pack 21g of protein into each serving (one whole bag only weighs 32g!).
