I got a set of these from a friend over the holidays. Other than the wood veneer cover they don't really look too special but the quality is better than expected. These are a nice size and will carry well in a back pocket. The more used it gets the better it looks! Since I have been using these I am often mistaken for a more intelligent being.

I was slightly skeptical purchasing these due to the wood veneer cover, I was wrong, the wood cover is amazing. I have been using these note books everyday. I carry them in them with me wherever I go. The wood veneer has not cracked, chipped, fell apart, nothing. It weathers nicely from the oils on your hands. THIS IS A QUALITY PRODUCT. I hope that they continue to produce these because I will be buying more. Side note: the print on the inside of the back cover is hilarious, nice touch, only an american company.

These are cool little notebooks. I bought them as stocking stuffer for my sons. They are unique and will come in handy on hikes, boy scout outings, school and so on. I am impressed with the build quality. nice thick paper and cool fonts.

I leave this all day, everyday, in my front jeans pocket. I sweat, I move, I bend, and I take it out to write notes. The wood cover has survived months of this kind of abuse and having a cellphone slide against it multiple times a day.

The paper is nice, good quality (no china-cheap slippery paper) and that wood cover is great and sturdy. Hasn't even bent.

The graph paper makes writing and drawing very easy, especially for art notes and quick charts. Plus, who knows... maybe it helps keep my phone from radiating my hip bones a little bit :P

I dreaded making lists to take to the store on those little ring binder thingies I would get from the Dollar Store; they disintegrated in my pockets, got stuck when I tried to get them out of a pocket, etc... This Field Notes book is great, it goes into a pocket just fine, it comes out of a pocket just fine, it doesn't come apart, it's nice looking, it's nice when held in my hand, it's the right size and unlike my iPhone/Android stuff I can trust that it will be useful when I need it. They have had many decades to get this right and they did. Kudos!

These books are very attractive but the covers just don't hold up very well in my pocket. The wood is gradually splintering off. It is happening slowly, though, so it doesn't leave much of a mess. The material the wood is mounted on seems to be good and sturdy so the books are still fully functional. I'm very impressed with the quality of the paper. I'll get some more, but not the wood covers next time.
