In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. BEST. SHOES. EVER.

These shoes SAVED MY FEET!! I have a job that requires me to be standing/moving all day. For over 6 months I had been wearing shoes that were basically breaking down my feet muscles and tendons, due to their lack of support and rigidness. I spent a long time researching both the brand and the shoe that would work best for my needs, and I have not been disappointed with these! From the moment I put these shoes on--I have been IN LOVE with them! I can wear them comfortably all day, every day. They're actually more comfortable than my slippers! I have had these for a few months now, and there has never been any blistering or rubbing issues. They are still holding up pretty well considering the abuse I might put them through in the warehouse. They are self-supportive (no arch support required for me!) I haven't found any flaws in the shoes yet. I will buy these again, and again. Worth every penny!

Like these shoes alot

I used the shoe dog on roadrunnersports to find the pair of running shoes that would be best for me and then purchased them from Amazon. They suggested buying these 1/2 size larger. Glad I did, they do run a little tight. I've been wearing them everyday for a week and they're very comfortable. I'm not a runner, they're just my everyday shoe.

i feel like i would wear through these

grabbed these as replacement runners in the same size as my other asics. they run a bit larger due to a wider toe box, but the material on top feels very flimsy, which also makes them feel loose. they needed to be a bit more structured. i feel like i would wear through these quickly

Good support for foot problems.

I have a problem with Achilles Tendonitis. Sometimes, it is very hard for me to walk. It was a shoe salesman who told me to try ASICS. Honestly, my feet are still getting used to them. They aren't miracle shoes by any means but I can stand and walk longer than I have been able to in the past. Since I enjoy sports and hiking, this is a plus.

I would find myself slipping on rocks and roots pretty frequently. A sprained ankle waiting to happen

Slightly on the small size, but my normal size still fits. I bought these for trail running, but they work really poorly for me and my terrain. I'm in Pennsylvania and I jog/run nearby trails that are very rocky and have a lot of tree roots as well. I would find myself slipping on rocks and roots pretty frequently. A sprained ankle waiting to happen. Portions of the trail that were gravel or packed dirt these gripped well, but for me that is a small part of my outing. They also gripped well uphill.

no arch support but otherwise a good shoe
