This is such a cute bead set!! I am a big fan of Melissa & Doug products and this one did not disappoint! I would not give this to a younger child who is still in the "put random objects in the mouth" phase because the beads are not huge, but they are still big enough for a 2-3 year old to be able to handle and string their own bracelet or necklace (some children may need a little help to get started). This set contains 42 beads, 3 cords and 6 connectors (you use 2 per piece of jewelry). The beads are all wooden and the quality is very good (no sharp edges or crooked Minnie), the connectors work well and we haven't had any problems with the jewelry coming apart unintentionally! This set is a great way to teach hand-eye coordination and it could also be useful in a physical therapy environment. The price is also fantastic and it would make an excellent stocking stuffer, a nice little add-on gift or just a fun craft for a rainy day!

This is a great toy for younger girls especially if they like Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck. I purchased this for my daughter who will be 3 and she loves stinging the beads on and trying to make different patterns. The beads are smaller so if your kid still puts random things in their mouth this probably isn't the toy for them. The wooden beads are painted nicely and have not chipped or peeled. I do think that maybe having them in a different storage container is better than this better than this topless box.
