I bought my Droid Turbo on the release date, excited to trade in my HTC Rezound. The Turbo is a slim phone that is seriously fast, and I wanted to shove it in my brother's iPhone loving face. The sales rep talked me into getting the Lifeproof case. Keep in mind that I've been an Otter Box Defender user with my Rezound with no complaints. For the last two weeks I have been trying out this lifeproof case, and I have only one complaint. The bottom of the case has two, I don't know what they are, but I think they are speaker ports. One, the Turbo's speakers are on the top, the exact opposite of where they put the ports. Two, because of the ports, there is not as much room for the soft buttons as they picture. It usually takes me three or four times of pushing the Home soft button to have it actually register. Fix the speaker ports, not only cuz the sound is crappy now, but so I can use my soft buttons, and this would get 5 stars. Oh, and I already bought mine, so if you're listening, Lifeproof, can I get a replacement if you decide to fix it?

The case looks and feels nice, that's it. It works great if you never plan to make a phone call or play music over the speaker. People have trouble hearing me, saying it sounds like I'm on speakerphone or under water when I'm not. And when I try to play music, I can barely hear it.

Heck, if the dang phone isn't sitting next to me, I don't have a prayer hearing it ring because it's muffled by the case so bad. I would have been just as good off wrapping this thing in saran wrap and duct tape.

I work in construction and bought my Turbo outright so I wanted a case that would keep my phone protected from dust/drops/dirty hands. Took a chance on a lifeproof after reading the negative reviews and I'm glad I did. While the case does muffle sound a bit, and makes it a bit harder to use moto voice, it isn't nearly as bad as other reviewers make it seem. The back/home/open apps buttons are also a bit harder to use, but it's not enough to be a deal breaker.

If my job wasn't so hard on phones I wouldn't have bothered with such an expensive case, but it really is the best protection available for the phone. I figured better to spend a bit more now to keep it mint rather than be faced with another $500+ for a replacement phone 6 months down the road. I'm satisfied with my purchase, but I can see how some people would feel like the price isn't worth it.

They made this case with the speaker locations of the old droid maxx. They put speaker membranes on the back where there's nothing. Against the front where both the loud speakers are and handset speaker (they're located all in front behind the nice long speaker grill (it's pretty sleek) there's just the screen protector. I thought the speakers had blown out it sounded so terrible! It's just screen protector in front, no membranes for sound transmission. If you need to use your phone as a phone, stay for away from this case. If you look at the iPhone life proof you'll see the membranes match up with the speaker holes.

Well of your looking for protection you will get it with this product however you don't hear your phone ring really well unless your in a quite room. You won't really hear people if you make a phone call. It will sound like there 100ft away and whispering. Taking on you home soft button is a pain in the butt. So it for 2 starts just because of the protection is great with a lot of other flaws behind it. It was badly engineered.

HUGE design flaw. No holes for the speaker!! ?? Got mine today and sound quality is absolutely terrible. Can't hear people on the other line, they say they can hear themselves echo on my end, especially in speaker mode.

They put two holes at the bottom in the back where there is nothing, and didn't put anything on the top front where the actual speaker is.

When I called the company their solution was to "put the corner of the phone IN my ear to hear people a little more clearly". Are you serious??!??

Sending mine back for a refund ASAP!

If all you need is for your phone to be water proof then this might work, did not test its waterproof feature. But if you want to make phone calls and hear the person you're talking to and want them to hear you than this case is NOT for you. You must turn up the volume all the way and then you can sometimes hear but the other person will keep asking you to speak louder because you sound distant. I would not recommend this case to anyone. First and last lifeproof case I will ever buy.

I bought this case and it it is bad... First- is overprized! and it doesnt even look nice. second- you can't plug your headphones unless you have an adaptor! thirsd the volume in your phone decrease drastically so if you work outside you won't be able to hear if someone is calling you. and third, and fourth and what makes me more upset is that the speaker sucks. because the case is so big, when you get a phone call, people can hardly hear you... it was a mistake
