all four corners cracking on this case after only less than 4 months of use. Small pieces of plastic breaking off on corners. Never even bumped the corners against anything... computer is used only on a desk or my lap, never even transported out of the house.

The back of the bottom half of the Speck case snapped within two months. Speck does not take returns from online sellers. Either buy the product directly from Speck so you can return it or save your money and go with another case.

I bought one of these when I got my computer new. I had had them on my previous computers and thought they worked well. Considering that when my first one broke after a few months, I considered it a fluke. Having faith in the company I bought another.
That second one was even worse. Immediately I was annoyed because the protective plastic was totally stuck to the case. Peeling off the plastic left sticky residue all over the outside. It literally took me hours to remove.
Once I put the case on pieces started to break off. First little segments broke, but then that led to the case being loosened. Following that the case started breaking even worse with huge cracks emerging.

I don't know how they got this bad, but I won't be buying anything else from this company, much less this case.

I just got a brand new 15" Retina Macbook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) and the speck shell did not fit. It was ~1mm too tight and therefore I it would not grab onto the display with all clips. It's very frustrating. I bought two 13" macbook speck shells and they worked just fine, but something went wrong with the 15" model...

I have had several of these cases for my 15" Retina Macbook Pro in the now-discontinued "Absinthe" green. I wanted a new one because my last one was getting scratched up and Tennis Ball green was the closest currently available color. Well, the first thing is that this is way more yellow-green than I thought. It really is like a tennis ball green but in the pictures it looks more "lime" so I assumed it wouldn't be so yellow... shame on me. Secondly, it is almost opaque as compared to the previous models which were transparent. I prefer the transparent look.

Why I gave this item 2 stars is that the quality control on this newer model is not good. There were several unfinished or uneven edges that looked bad and could potentially scratch the computer or get caught on things and accelerate cracking, which these cases are prone to. Added to this, the case simply did not fit. It was too tight and the snaps that hold it in place did could not go in place. I did not want to damage my computer by trying to cram the case on. If I even had managed to get it on, I doubt I could get it off without breaking it or the computer. Previously, I had three of the Absinthe color and they all consistently fit the same, relatively easy to take on and off for cleaning and were good quality. Fortunately, I was able to return it to Amazon for a refund since it was defective.

This color has been discontinued now. Why Speck does not offer a primary color like green for the 15" is unusual. They should really consider making the older better-quality colors again, especially the neon ones. Next time I need a case, I guess I'll have to look elsewhere. I'd like to also say that almost $50 for a plastic case is ridiculous. FYI, other similar Chinese-made cases cost $20 or less, and are probably just as hit-and-miss as these are, or you can find OEM Speck cases elsewhere for $30 or less.

I have a 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina display, model June 2014. This case fits this model of computer. However, the color of the case was darker than expected, and was smooth to the touch, not the "soft" satiny finish like I wanted. The color on the box was shown as "color haze" and the color I selected was "steel blue" so I'm not sure if that is the same color. Both were dark blues. The color shown here on Amazon is a bit lighter than the one I received.

which I wish I had seen before I ordered this. It was hard to tell which finish this product had, even after looking through the Speck website.

This case fits the 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina display, just make sure to select that size before you order. The case appeared to be good quality and comes with a 1 year warranty. I returned this case and purchased another Speck case with the "satin" finish instead, which I am very happy with.

Just replaced my Speck MacBook pro cover. It did not last. Bottom cracked, and then the corners started breaking off. This product looked nice and protected my MacBook from scratches - but it did not last long enough to be worth the $$.
