This heater did heat up my entire tank to a very warm temperature. I placed my hand in the tank with all the dead fish when I came home from work. I'd suggest looking elsewhere until Aqueon further investigates this issue.

In a 1 gallon better bowl, it's running 77, rather than 78 (check by two thermometers), but is consistent. It's hard to find heaters that have thermostats that will work in small bowls, so this is a good compromise.

I bought it on the 10th of Nov. I checked today and the heater exploded already. It was actually smoking when I took it out of the water... Very disappointed.

The Aqueon heaters that are pre-set to 78 degrees are my favorites. They are durable, work well, are very consistent, and I have only these types of heaters in my tanks. I love them and just bought two more for my other smaller tanks. Love the product. Will absolutely be buying again when I need another.

Had it for a few months and since living in Hawaii, the water stays in the low 80's it hasn't come on yet. Water will start to cool around January/February then we'll see how it works. I like that it's shorter than the last one I had from a different company. Also black so hides pretty well.

It doesn't even works. I put it in my tank for a few hours came back and water was still cold. I held the heater for a few minute but it has no warmth at all and there is no light indicating that it's on.

NO STARS if there was the option!!!!!
WARNING!! The worst, the absolute worst heater. I am very upset about this product and this company. I bought this heater and within 2-3 hours after introduction, my Double Tail Betta started clamping his fins, no appetite, and was crashed on the bottom of the tank and laying on his side. I removed the heater did 100% water changes. He looked like he was going to die. For two days he showed the above symptoms. He came around and is doing better (3rd day). PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS HEATER …. it is leaching some chemical into the water. I am lucky to have caught it in the early stages.
I think this company should recall all this heaters immediately!

Excellent heater for my 8 gallon tank-- there have been no issues with it since arrival. Very easy to move about the tank when rescaping and keeps the water at the preset temperature. Would absolutely buy another in the future for later tanks.
