Just received my Thule case! I was really looking for a computer case that wouldn't break after a few weeks, which is how most of the plastic cases from Incase or Speck have done on my past MacBooks. I mean I just spent $2000 on a damn computer it better be well-protected! I found this product and saw basically three main complaints which I hope to clear up: 1) the plastic quality seems insufficient for the price, 2) some people had issues with accessing their ports and 3) it was hard to install the plastic bits.

To those I say, well, it's a computer case. I don't expect NASA grade plastic quality for $70. The rubber bumper seems legit and it will protect my computer from general falls and scratches so I'm happy. I can completely access all of my ports. I don't know what plugs people are using that they say they don't fit but seriously, there is complete access. Lastly, the installation is fool proof. Any average person can figure it out. It took me literally 5 minutes or less to assemble.

I'm really happy so far with this case and recommend investing some money to protect these incredibly expensive machines!

I never have to worry about people stealing my MBP because everyone assumes it is a big bulky PC laptop. ;) Very thankful for my thule cover. It gives me peace of mind when traveling with my laptop. The covers allow me to cover it with stickers too.

10/18/15: Hot update to my initial review! If you're on the fence, I just had a full vindication on the quality and price tag on this baby. Rushing to get out the door, my landline phone handset flew out of my hand, struck and bounced off the top closed lid of my new $3k+ 2015 MacBook Pro 15". Ouch. I looked at the clear mylar protection sheet covering the lid and saw what appeared to be a ding in the body of the laptop. Double-Ouch! "Oh, well," I thought, "would have been nice to have at least made it a full week without incident." BUT then... just to see how severe the dent was, I removed the top bumper shell (a cinch, by the way) to find the laptop way completely undamaged! Those few millimeters of mylar protection took the brunt of it and saved me from a dinged computer before I'd even made the first credit card payment on it! The mylar sheet has a tiny scuff, half of which washed away with a damp cleaning cloth. Per my review below, I was pretty much sold on this thing before: now I'm practically an evangelist for Thule!

10/16/15: First rate protection for any Macbook Pro, but especially if your laptop costs the equivalent of a few months rent!
To start, I'm not a major fan of snap-on cases. Never bothered with them on my three Macbook Airs, as they add bulk to a design thats entire raison d'être is lightweight portability. Now that I'm back to a "bulkier" 15" MBP Retina it makes good sense, and the added weight is negligible.
The real win with this well-designed Thule bumper is practical protection that permits the machine to breathe, while still showing off a bit of it's famous style. In fact, the Vecros adds a bit a style!

If you purchased a $1400+ Macbook and you're like me, it's a little nerve-wracking literally every time you leave the house, put down your backpack, walk on ice, or quite honestly do anything. If you're computer is going to leave your desk - this bumper is a MUST have. One of the best investments you can make in Macbook accessories. YES it's rather expensive, YES it takes maybe 15 - 20 minutes of your attention to put on properly and securely. But once it's on and the scratch protectors and bumpers are snapped into place: it's not going anywhere. Yes, there's extra weight, but it feels perfectly balanced in your hands and the bumper sides feel 100 times more secure carrying in your hands than the smooth macbook does alone. I work on my computer 12-15 hours a day. I go from sitting in an office to outdoors at a music festival, to riding a helicopter, to on stage in a venue full of intoxicated people - I need a computer case that can offer true drop protection and Thule is literally the only one on the market that does. This case combined with a weather proof sleeve, plus a Kuzy keyboard cover and a

I bought the Thule Vectros for my 15" MacBook Pro Retina (Model A1398). I must say I spent hours researching the best kind of protection for my MBP, because I want to preserve and protect my investment the best I can. After looking at a lot of the plastic and rubberized snap-on cases, I wasn't convinced that any would provide me with the protection I wanted. I saw the Thule (and the price that went with it) and thought, "Why not?" So, I shelled out $80 and bought it.

Two days later (the day I'm writing this), the Thule Vectros arrived at my front door. I opened Amazon's packaging and saw the Thule box inside. The first thing I was surprised with was the weight. I expected the case to be a lot heavier, but it only weighs a few ounces. (Amazon says it weighs 11.4 ounces; that's probably right.)

Upon opening the box, the first thing I saw were the two halves of the Vectros separated by a thick piece of cardboard. The installation instructions were printed on the cardboard and the two protective plastic sheets were contained in a white paper envelope. I detached the two halves from the cardboard and pulled the protective sheets out of the envelope. I placed everything on a sturdy table with plenty of space so I could work easily.

Installation took me about ten minutes, even with the protective sheets. Make sure to peel the sheet of film off each protector (it's on the smooth side that will be against the Mac's body) before installing. It takes a little muscle to snap everything into place, but nothing someone of average strength shouldn't be able to manage. One thing I found helpful was to press the stubborn clips against the computer and up in the direction they have to move to clip on. You will probably have to flip and rotate your Mac a little to do this.
