This School Speciality Wire Bending Jig is a metal jig that should last a long time with normal use. With your developing skills using this jig, it will bend several gauges of wire, of varying thicknesses, up to 1/8 inch of softer materials. I've used it with some stainless steel wire and some old clothes hangers that lived out their usefulness, in the closet. It is effective in making round and angled bends and will assist in bending circle and chain loops. With a little imagination, a clamp and locking pliers, bending some hard to hold and difficult wire gauges is possible. Before purchasing an expensive and cumbersome bending tool, I think you can do most of your bending needs with this tool.

I use this jig for making small wire pieces as necessary for hobbies I have. This jig has worked very well and I would recommend it for daily use. It is well made and the instructions are okay, more detail could be provided but this should not be a deterrent to purchase.

This is a terrific little tool; simple, affordable, and well made. Be aware you will need to mount it on something, but that's simple enough. If you need it mobile, you can mount it on a small length of board that kids (or limber adults) can kneel on OR can be clamped to a workbench. Whether it's something you need, or something that would inspire you to make art or projects, this little jewel is well worth the pocket change!

I needed to make 40 replacement wires for a weaving loom that hasn't been in production since 1985. The wires connect the foot pedals and the harnesses which raises& lowers them. The wires were a fairly complex series of bends and they all had to be the same length. This Jig made it very easy. I'll keep this in my tool box.

I make wire frames for my clothespin bags that I sell on Etsy. (I'm the "Clothespin Queen" if you want to look at what my frames look like.) I use the 12 gauge wire and had been bending it all by hand with pliers (well, my husband was) - this jig has totally helped my frames! I am bending it all myself now, taken my time down from 15 minutes to 3 and works well. We attached it to an 8 x 8 piece of wood and while I still have to hold it down a bit to keep it from spinning, it otherwise works great.

I had read other similar jigs being not able to do 12 gauge wire... I'm honestly not sure how long this will withstand what I'm doing to it. However, the price is worth it for what I'm able to do with it.

Directions on how to make different bends are lacking but I'm sure they can be found on line. It took some trial and error to figure out how to do what I needed. Now, that I have, it's great! Wish I had bought this when I started my bag business.

As with other wire benders used in the R/C model community, sometimes you need to enhance or fashion a special item. This wire bender does a great job for smaller projects, and in fact my wife now uses it for her crafts, decorative metal trim, and just about anything she sees fit to make using wire.
