Worked perfectly with my Macbook Pro 15" Retina (2012) SSD hard drive. I just plugged it into a USB to SATA adapter (not included) that I got from another external drive, hooked it up to my iMac, and voila. It asked for my Filevault password and mounted the drive like magic.
