In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

    Comfortable and cuter than expected. I bought these on a lightning deal. By the time I got to it, the powder blue and hot pink combination was one of the only choices remaining. The color combination is bright, beautiful and vivid in person, and think in the end I actually like the color better than the other options. They look cute for an everyday tennis shoe, and work great as a walking shoe. I bought them for my morning dog walks. Usually when I buy a pair of shoes it requires a painful 2-week break-in period of friction blisters on the backs of my ankles. I've walked around all day in these with no pain. No break-in period required. Not quite like walking on clouds, but not far off. They provide great arch support! I will say that I have a wide foot and found that I'm usually between a 9-1/2 to 10 and the 9-1/2 fit perfectly (I can even slip them off without tying). The only gripe I have, is that because I have a wider foot, it made the shoelaces very short and almost impossible to tie. I recommend buying a longer pair of shoelaces.

    WOW ONE OF THE BEST BUYS I'VE EVER MADE!!! I got these during Amazon's #PrimeDay for $40 dollars, the cheapest price ever found on these running shoes. I ran with them the other day and it was the best purchase I've made for my health.

    The shoes are extremely comfortable, fits snugly on my feet, are very light and the bounce it gives is very comfortable. I have chronic knee pain and I finally can run without feeling knee pain using this sneakers. I recommend it for people with joint pain because the cushioning is just right and it will prevent joint pain due to impact. I would buy these shoes again.

    I have worn Asics of various varieties for years. I started wearing them when I started run/walking in 5 and 10K's some 10 years ago! They are the only shoe I've ever worn that feel broken in from the minute you put them on!! I did discover that I always go up a half size in Asics. I usually wear an 8 in most shoes. I ALWAYS buy an 8.5 in Ascics. And they fit beautifully. I bought this pair as my daily run/walking shoe. (and because Asics is so consistent, I can buy them on-line with confidence) I buy the running shoes for my daily walk/runs. I usually buy new running Asics about every 6 months or so. And one more thing - I have discovered that if you don't have to have the "newest model" every year, find last years or even 2 years ago models here and you will find them so much cheaper on Amazon then in the pricey running shoe stores. (Just go in the pricey running shoe store to get fitted !! ;-O) WOOHOO!!!! Best shoe on the market in my opinion!!

    I am a runner and always get ASICS gels (I wear an 8 typically and wear 8.5 in running shoes). These fit snugger than the usual pairs I have gotten over the last 10 years, tight and narrow. Got them on a flash sale, guess they were on sale for a reason. I will be returning them.

    Ordered a size 7 and fit was fine; however the soles of these shoes are not very flexible and hurt the balls of my feet. I don't like walking in these and can't imagine running. Uncomfortable and cheaply made. Not worth 40 dollars.

    I had to exchange these for the next size up because they were too small. I have bunions on both feet so really need a wide toe box. These do not fit like the clunky ASICS walking shoes so be prepared to move up a size. Also ASICS says they do not come in wide.
    The shoestrings are too short to allow them to be laced as a running shoe. Amazon has some colorful shoestrings for abt $7.00.
