This Chef’s Torch flame is much more powerful than my first crème brulee torch I’ve had and makes the job so much faster. With the old one you had to hold one button down before you can press the ignition button which was awkwardly close and then another button to lock it so the flame doesn’t go out. This one is much simpler to use.

It is a little bit bigger than I expected – but easy to operate. Lighting and operation is flawless, easy and dummy proof. Although I’ve used kitchen blow torches for years, this one is by far the best looking one. It feels good and solid in your hand like real quality. Also makes me look good in the kitchen when I create mouth-watering meals with a touch of flair and excitement!

I have been using it for all sorts of things like melting marshmallows on hot cocoa, making sugar crusts on Crème Brule, melting cheese over sandwiches, browning and crisping roasts.

I wanted to know how long I can work before the tank is empty so I filled it up and put it outside on full blast. It had a workable big flame for 20 minutes then it slowed down and went out after 32 minutes which is interesting to know. Not bad numbers either. I love it and highly recommend this torch.

I received this kitchen blow torch as a gift being a home cook and aspiring chef – and I just love it! I filled it up was butane lighter fluid – a process that all but 10 seconds to do. The instructions came printed on a package insert which is very clear and easy to follow where they also ask you to please write a review – so here goes:

Pros:
- Looks very attractive – best design I've seen. Not only do I wow friends and family – I really love and enjoy working with it.

- Easy and fast to refuel (Literally takes 3 burst of 3 seconds with a butane canister)

- Child safety lock. I know I can store it safely in my kitchen drawer and not worry.

- Very easy to light. Lights every time. Once lit you don't have to hold anything down to keep it lit like some others I've seen.

- Impressive adjustable flame. For Crème Brule I found it best with the inner hot blue flame set to 1 inch (goes to 2 inches at full blast). I use it full blast on roasts.

- Sturdy base when set on a bench.

- Aluminium body sits well in your hand even though it is quite big. Finger guard keeps your hand away from nozzle.

- Perfectly angled when working downwards e.g. ramekins or pie on a bench. (Most I've seen are not angled).

Cons
- No fuel gauge. Not that I found it an issue. You use it until it is empty and it takes 10 seconds to refuel. Too easy!

- Doesn't come with butane but I bought a canister on Amazon for $3.25 which was delivered together.

My Verdict: This is a versatile tool and great addition to any kitchen and gets 5 starts from me. It exudes quality and style while being easy to use.

Best I've seen and used. I highly recommend it. You can't go wrong investing in one.

The two things I like most about this good-looking kitchen torch are how easy it is to fill it up, and to light the flame. To fill it up, you basically invert the torch, push the butane canister squarely against it and push down for 3 seconds, let go, repeat, let go, repeat. That’s it. Then turn it over, turn the flame adjustment knob until you hear the gas flow and press the ignition button. Lights up every time. And you don’t have to hold anything down to keep it lit. It stays lit until you turn the gas off with the adjustment knob.By the way, the instructions come clearly written on s separate instruction leaflet which is well written and easy to follow.O yes, another thing I like is that I can easily adjust the flame. I find a medium flame is better for my crème brulee to give all the sugar crystals a chance to melt and caramelize into crunchy top. At full blast it burns the sugar. It is a fine looking, well designed chef quality torch.

Not sure if I can say this but if ever there was a sexy-looking kitchen appliance – this is it! Heats brilliantly with a big flame on a comfortable angle when you hold it. The red hand-shield protector keeps your fingers well away from the pointy end too. It is sturdy, well balanced and the aluminum grip feels good under your hand.I made charred egg plant dip for the first time by first heating the eggplant in the microwave for 2 minutes, then charring the eggplant all over (which is easy seeing that this blowtorch has a nice, big flame), allowing it to cool down a little, then scraping the skin off but leaving a few burnt bits for the charred flavor. Then I put it back into the microwave for another 2-3 minutes to soften, then into the food processor with garlic, salt, black pepper, olive oil, lemon juice and a touch of Tabasco sauce. Blitzed it and had it with crackers. Fantastic!

This is a well-made, robust crème brulee torch. All the parts seem like good quality, thick, durable material. The nozzle is from stainless steel and the top is some durable plastic polymer – probably ABS. The grip is of satin finish aluminum. Overall – not only is it tough but good-looking too. Probably the nicest design I’ve come across.Yesterday I used it to fry corn on the cob. Just brilliant. Stuck a fork into the corn to hold it, then going up and down with the flame but not too long in one place. You have to give the heat the chance to penetrate a bit and warm the inside too. But the whole cob was done in about 2 minutes. Then I put butter and salt on it, put the heat on again to melt the goodness into all the crevices and then the best part – eating it! Delicious.
