This works very well, if you need a vertical grip or more battery power. It is waaay less expensive than the Sony battery grip. I mostly wanted it to have more batter power when I am using my A7S for video. It does work for this purpose. The main fault would be that I do get some battery drain when the camera is off. For this reason, I tend not to shoot with it, unless I need it.

I don't know what to say other then it works. The build quality is right up there and seems like it would take a beating with a smile. It is almost identical to the Sony oem grip and I wouldn't be surprised if it was made in a similar factory. The functionality is 100% and it does everything it's supposed to do. It looks great on the body and matches it quite nicely. I have yet to use the remote but I'm looking forward to testing it out soon and will update my review when I have. However, at this price that is really just an amazing bonus and I won't be too disappointed if the remote is in as functional as hoped. I say you risk a little by picking up one of these, and it's worth a shot.

I bought Neewer Wireless Remote Battery Grip hoping to get longer on camera battery life and use it for long exposures on my Sony A7s. The listing states: “The timer can set delay time, exposure time, time interval and number of shots.” After several hours of tinkering I was not able to make it work as an intervalometer (... long exposures or time-lapse).

The battery grip is made of plastic including the battery compartment latch which, if dinged will surely shear off.

If all you need is the battery grip this will work just be sure to be careful with your equipment. The remote does work as a basic remote shutter release trigger as long as the battery grip is on the camera.

I’ve decided to keep the unit hoping to get my Seventy One Bucks out of it. I also bought a Neewer NW-A7 L bracket which I noticed can be with this grip as a kit. Beware, if you use the "L" bracket with the battery grip it blocks the access doors on the left side of the A7s where the HDMI and audio etc. inputs are located. (The bracket used by itself does allow access to these compartments... just not in conjunction with the battery grip)

So if all you need is extended battery life and a basic remote this will probably work.

Now I just need to find an intervalometer.
