In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness.     When ordering I was somewhat not sure of this color but good thing I ordered this one instead Black. I it feels a little tight at first since I have wide feet but after using ( Freeletics ) it molded my feet and gives support with my training.

    Overall they are pretty good shoes. I have worn them for a few gym sessions and I have noticed the following issues.

    Pros:
    - they are very lightweight, much more so than my previous shoes
    - They have good traction. I was able to do a lot of lateral drills without ever feeling uncomfortable about losing my footing.
    - They look cool. Admittedly a silly reason to buy shoes, but an added perk when they do look better than a boring pair of shoes.
    - Neutral feel. They provide a really good feeling throughout the foot, which is important for training. It provides the perfect balance of support and "barefoot" feeling, which is really helpful in activating hidden muscle fibers.

    Cons
    - Narrow, narrow, narrow. If you have wide feet, you'lll have to think twice about these. I did the sizing tool on Amazon and used my asics running shoes as my comparison. According to that tool (which I believe is designed by asics), the medium width Fortius shoe should have been loose to very loose in my midfoot, which is simply not the case. After the first hour of training, I took the shoe off to notice some of my toes were bloody from the toes being pressed together so tightly and the toenail cutting other toes. I'm sure they will break in, but beware.

    So far, there is only one con, so these are definitely worth a try if you're looking for a training shoe. The fact that amazon offers free returns on this shoe (at least when I bought them) is another great factor allowing you to get them home and try them on before fully committing.

    Buy one-half size larger and they will fit perfectly well. This is my second pair, although I have had my first pair only one month. I bought them for cross-training and they are great for that, but I like them so much that I wear them everyday for almost every activity, so I ordered a second pair. They fit like a glove, have absolutely no drag and feel like a part of your foot. You can't find a better shoe for raquet ball. When I wear any of my other shoes now, they don't feel right and I miss my ASICS the full time. I wish they came in solid black leather so I could wear them when I go out to places where I wear coat & tie.

    I'm not sure who's feet these would fit but they are super narrow. They are one width from the heel all the way up to the toe. Clearly the folks at ASICS designed these for a kangaroo, sadly for ASICS kangaroos don't wear shoes.

    Excellent training shoes. I have flat feet and pronate a lot. Mostly prefer flat shoes, but those have some arch support just right. A lot of side support and strong top. Very well constructed. I wear them to the gym every day and have done weights and couple of intense classes like Parisi six zone training, kickboxing, etc. Those just perfect fit. I always been Saucony runners and New Balance Minimus fan, but those offer excellent support and fall in between. They do offer some cushion and at the same time hold your foot like a glove on all sides. Inner sides are strong non-mesh material which probably make them suitable for rope climbing. Top of the toe box is mesh for the vent, soles are very stable non-slip rubber. Soles are removable if you need to put your own. If anything negative at all then may be your feet will get a bit hot since mesh area is smaller then in most running shoes, Fit is excellent and sizing is right.

    I bought these mostly as casual shoes so I wear them for hours on end. At first, they feel comfortably skin tight. However, after a couple of hours my feet (across the toes) begin to ache reminding me how my brother used to roll my knuckles in a tight handshake when we were kids. I literally can't wait to get them off. I thought they would stretch out but it's been nearly a month and no such improvement yet. Otherwise, the soles have little padding while providing a good grip.

    I bought these for better balance for squatting and dead lifts. They work great for weight training. They fit a little small so keep that in mind when ordering. I have a pair of size 13 Asics running shoes and they have a good extra thumb length in the toe, these in a size 13 do not.
