Important Information

Safety Warning
When using a frong loading washing machine, place the Color Catcher sheet in a delicates or mesh bag and place at teh back of teh drum before adding to the wash load.

Indications
Mix whites, lights, and colors without worrying about color runs or bleeding. Trap loose dyes and dirt released during the wash cycle. At the end of teh wash, the dye and dirt come out on the Color Catcher sheet, not your clothes. The proof is in the sheet!

Ingredients
Specially Treated Cellulose sheet, Fragrance

Directions
Place 1 sheet in washing machine, then add detergent and clothing. Use 2 sheets for large loads or loads with new, dark, or non-colorfast garments. After laundry cycle is complete, discard sheet(s) after one use. Sheets are dryer safe. Front Load Washers - place Color Catcher sheet in a mesh bag as recommended by machine manufacturer to prevent sheet from getting into the water pump.

When I very first tried this awhile back I found surely this can't work like they say it will but I was glad to be wrong! Just to be safe I washed a new red shirt with one of these and an old white washcloth that I didn't care if it turned pink. When I opened the washer to my joy I had a red shirt and a white washcloth. Same with stuff that is blue. In fact when I buy something new and if I have any doubts I just throw a color catcher in with the load. I have been surprised before to see colors other than those we traditionally think of bleed and this caught it. I highly recommend this!

How did people do laundry before these things? Growing up I was taught to separate my laundry into brights, reds, whites, and darks then to wash with cold water to prevent dye transfer and fading. But that didn't always work, so before these I was basically sorting my laundry by ROYGBIV almost. For example: reds, pinks, oranges, and purple together; black, blue, grey, brown together; whites that can be bleached together; whites I can't bleach together; then greens and yellows together. That's a lot of loads of laundry!!! I do have OCD so maybe I'm a little different... But with Color Catchers I can combine almost everything (I wash everything in the red color family separate still, just in case!) together at once and not worry. With some things I use 2 CCs just in case, and I re-use them all the time with no problems! These definitely help me control my compulsion to sort by color (which drives my husband nuts) and have probably helped me avoid some serious laundry mishaps too!

Shout Color Catchers are magical sheets that go into every load of laundry I do and make my life a bit easier. They save me time and hassle because I do not have to carefully sort clothes for washing. I am a super picky laundry person and I have been using these to wash mixed loads of laundry for more years than I would like to count. I only wish I had them in my college days. They do exactly what they claim to do. You can throw whatever clothes you want into the washer and know that no colors will transfer from one thing to another. They keep colors off of the whites and take any potential "dingy-ness" out of darker loads. They are great for new clothes to catch any dye that runs off with that first wash. Having to wash my clothes at the laundromat these save me from any weird thing the last person to use the machines might have washed. They also help me be cost-effective by enabling me to do full loads no matter what I have to wash - no more half loads to keep lights and darks separate. My better half doubted the magic of the color catchers when I first introduced them to him. Knowing how particular I am, he watched wide-eyed as I put whites in with reds and darks. Lo and behold, colors caught, nice white whites, another believer in the magic of the color catcher.

I've used Shout Color Catcher for years and I find that it is a product that I just take for granted. Recently I was making a comment about the colorfastness of an item of clothing and mentioned that my Shout Color Catcher sheet proved how heavily the color bled. I realized then that not everyone was familiar with this laundry necessity.

Shout Color Catcher has really changed the way that I do laundry. I used to worry about mixed colors, especially when light colors and dark colors were both on the same garment. Over the years, I learned not to trust the care labels on garments and found that cold water was no help with some unstable dyes. Throwing a color catcher sheet into the wash gives me peace of mind. If I am doing a light colored load, I usually just throw in half a sheet, just in case. Most times, it comes out just as white as it went it, but better safe than sorry if something like a red sock inadvertently gets mixed into the load.

When I do dark loads, the difference in the Color Catcher sheet, before and after the wash cycle, is dramatic. I can usually tell just by the final color on the sheet which item was the most problematic. Since I have been using this product, I have not had any clothes ruined by dye bleeding off of other clothes. I would hate to be without this product and always make sure that I have a backup supply.

I have been using these for several years and am thrilled with how well they work. The addition of one or two sheets allows me to wash fairly new jeans with other darker items without ruining everything. They are really great for multi-colored shirts - the kind that are white with a colored stripe or similar. I am surprised that they are not in heavier use. I don't use them for every load, but I make sure I always have them on hand for certain loads.
