If you're looking for something to freshen up the smell of your carpet than this is an excellent choice. Initially I began my search for a carpet deodorizer after a Sweet Potato I had been storing under my bed had gone south and leaked all its potato juices all over my carpet. (Yes I know I shouldn't have been storing it under my bed, it's a small shared apartment and I didn't want my roommates to take it- don't judge). The smell wasn't terrible but no matter what I tried I couldn't get it out. I used multiple carpet cleaners and sprays over multiple weeks which cleaned up the stain but the smell was still there. Arm & Hammer was the only product I found that got the smell out and after only one use- I never thought that potato smell would leave so I imagine that it'll work on just about any smell.

There are multiple scents of this brand although this is the most common I've seen and probably the best smelling. The powder is very potent and the scent is very strong for the first day and then is more like a background smell for the next two weeks or so. You get the best effect if you follow the instructions and sprinkle it generously on the carpet and let it sit for 30 minutes before vacuuming it up. I have a pretty small room so I use about half the box each time, but the smell last for about a month. As a bonus, if you have a vacuum with a bag it keeps your vacuuming smelling fresh for multiple months. Its been about 4 months since I last used the product in my room but my I can smell it on my vacuum every time I take it out of the closet!

TIP: This packaging does tend to leak a little bit of powder when handling, even when you get it at the store. The box in my pantry package did leak a little, and I've contacted Amazon about putting a bag and more protected around this particular product (8/18/2015) but Amazon is great and will refund you if you get a damaged product so I wouldn't stress too much about it.

Let me start by saying that I have two dogs living inside the house with me so making sure that my house does not smell like Fido is very important. The smell is really good and is not overpowering (you only need a little bit). It makes the whole house smell nice and clean by just using a little bit. When I am vacuuming I start in my family room which is in the first floor and as soon as I start to vacuum the whole house starts to smell nice. You only need a little bit so that helps to make it last longer. The clean carpet smell last for a few days even with my dogs running around all day and laying down in the carpet. If you do have pets, make sure they don't step on this thing though, it is toxic for them and it can hurt them so when you are vacuuming make sure they are locked or away from the area.

I purchased the Arm & Hammer Extra Strength Oder Eliminator for the first time last week to refresh my floors for a party we were having this weekend, when the box arrived and I opened the aroma was amazing, it made the whole box smell fresh and it smelled soooo good! I couldn't wait to use it on my carpets so the next day I treated my floors, let it set for 10 minutes in each room, and vacuumed it up. My carpets smell amazing, people were commenting 2 days later at our party how fresh the room smelled and there were no pet smells from our 2 dogs. Perfect for giving your home that extra boost of freshness and eliminate pet smells! Definitely recommend, I will be purchasing more!

Our carpet is on it's last legs....or whatever carpet has. We clean it regularly but it's past that...it needs replacing. Sadly, it took the idea of having company over that made us buy this. We were desperate for a fresher scent than walking in and smelling stale air.

I used this all over, and then vacuumed. Then went back to some spots that seem to hold odor and brushed this in with the broom, let it sit, and then vacuumed again. Today I came home and noticed walking in that the house smelled good. For once!

I have a dog who I have had since I was a puppy, unfortunately she peed on my brand new carpet when she was a puppy and even after shampooing I could smell it! I bought this stuff and use it constantly (probably more then necessary lol) anyway the smell has completely disappeared! The air smells so much cleaner when using this stuff I love it! Very strong scent, which depending on who you are could be a good thing or a bad thing. I have a husband, a kid, and 3 dogs so the strong scent is great for me. Though I only do this once or twice a week because the scent is so strong. It is a pleasant floral scent. I really like it and it helps keep my house smelling fresh.

I have an 85lb golden retriever and use this Oxi-Clean carpet powder all the time -- I love it and it works very well!!! If you follow the directions and leave it on for at least 15min before vacuuming, your whole house will smell great! I've also been in a hurry many times and have vacuumed it up only a few minutes after sprinkling, and it still works well (just doesn't get your whole house quite as fragrant). The other big plus is that for at least 1-2 vacuums after initially applying/vacuuming, you can still smell the carpet powder almost as much as if you had just applied it. I mostly just bought this powder to make my house smell good, but I got curious one day to see if it actually did helped lift dirt/dog hair (like it advertises). I vacuumed an area of my carpet, then applied this powder and waited 15-20 minutes. When I vacuumed after the application, it actually did pull up more dirt/dust -- not tons (my Dyson Animal vacuums does do a darn good job), but some nonetheless. The powder has a very fresh scent-- not overwhelming or floral but more so like clean laundry (almost like Gain laundry detergent fresh).
