It took me a few trys to get it right, but now it works great. It does come out a bit muddy but nothing crazy.
So I've brewed both coffee and espresso and both comes out great.
I bought the 3 cup one and it makes a little less than half a normal coffee cup.
I know your not suppose to drink a mass amount of espresso but I wish I would have gotten the larger one.
So you may want to go with the larger size.

For the price this is a great expresso maker. The handle is a bit flimsy for such a big coffee maker so I try to keep as far from the flame as possible because I'm afraid the heat might melt the handle and weaken it to the point of spilling the hot coffee everywhere when picking it up to serve. So handle with caution! Other than that my expresso comes out great every time!

It does what it says, but the O ring is a bit of a nuisance. I have never seen a pot like this with an O ring that *wasn't* a nuisance, so I can hardly blame them. Still. They could have put a tab on it or something. The last time I washed it, I gouged the o ring prying it out of there.

Otherwise, it's been great.

Even though this item is very inexpensive, it works well. It had some brown stains inside that were difficult to remove. Interestingly neither the item nor its container state where it was manufactured. I thought all imported products had to list their country of origin. Its directions, such as they were, are in Spanish.

Worked great and I really like it at first but then the plastic handle in the back snapped. It seems the handle cannot tolerate the kind of heat you get over a stove top. Do yourself a favor and just buy a decent espresso maker instead of options like this. Unless you are going camping with it...

The first one we ordered showed up with the handle broken off. We didn't think much about it, and got a replacement shipped quickly (thank you amazon). We started using the new one almost everyday. I am writing this review exactly 3 months to the day after we first ordered it. This past week, the handle broke off of the one we use every day. I am going to reorder the same size (12 cup) espresso maker, but I'm going to spend 3x the money and get a Bialetti. We have a 6 cup Bialetti and it has lasted for years.

Also, it is important to note that the maxware 12 cup coffee basket would get lodged in the lower container so that I had to use a knife to get it out. When you make a pot every morning you get used to it. However, when I went back to my small Bialetti, then I appreciated not having to get out a knife every morning.

The reason, this is still getting two stars is that the price is very good. $17 is the current price, and I see why I was initially attracted to it. If you will use it rarely, this could be the pot for you!

This is fine for the price. kinda lightweight, but works perfectly. I like the size because it is actually just enough espresso for my cappucinio cups. Takes about 5 minutes to boil the water and presto. Used it for a week and it is just all I need.

I have a few stove top espresso makers. I got this one for the size. You get what you pay for! On the 3rd use the handle broke off. I still used it (my husband engineered a new metal handle for me) on the 4th use something happened to the seal and it caused the filter to bend. A week after purchase I received an email from the company asking how I liked their product. I emailed them my experience they said they are working on making the quality of their product better. I could just return it for a full refund. I didn't since my husband had altered the product. Would I recommend this product? I would tell you my experience and let you decide if you want to or not. I still use mine but my husband has practically reinvented it. I'm giving it a 3 star since it does have working parts and I still use it.
