Review of the Trianium Atomic S Battery Case in Black for the iPhone 6

Now available with multiple colors! I got the Black and Orange one and it functions just like the first one I reviewed!
Durability on the Black one has been great and no degradation of battery or wear on my battery case!
If you are anything like me, I get extremely excited to receive a package!

I received the Trianium Atomic S Battery case for the iPhone 6 in a silver bubble wrap that protected the case very well.

Kudos to the shipping department!

Onwards to the Review!

Quick Version:

Pros: Great Battery Life, Protective Case, Sync Through the Case, Raised Lip for a lay on the table design, Tactile Buttons, Does not interfere with camera and flash functionality, and Slimmer than my Otter Box!

Cons: Slight Speaker Audio Distortion past 80% volume

“Whatever”: When charging the case, it charges the phone first then the case, the soft black material is a fingerprint magnet for oily fingers, You have to use the headphone extension/adapter to use the headphone jack, and non-included wall charger to charge the case (you can always use your Apple wall charger)

I have owned many battery cases for my previous iPhones (3Gs, 4 and 5) and by now I know where to look for design flaws. The biggest problems I've encountered before:
- complete lack of screen protection (you need a lip around the sides so that the screen is protected in case of a fall)
- parts that separate and fly away if you drop the case
- case makes it hard to take the phone in and out, and it doesn't pass USB through so you can't sync without taking out the phone
- complicated charging patterns that always leave you with an uncharged phone and/or battery
- fragile microUSB connector
- insufficient clearing of camera/flash area ruining flash pictures with reflections and halos
- insufficient battery capacity
- non-compliant Lightning connector causing the display of incompatible cable error messages
- excessive bulk

I'm pleased to report that the Trianium case passes all my criteria with flying colors.
- It's incredibly thin, especially considering its capacity
- It's capable of providing a full charge to the iPhone 6
- The two part bumper design is clever, unique and protects the phone well
- It provides USB pass-through so you can sync while the phone is in the case
- The camera/flash area is given plenty of clearance and flash pictures look fine
- The rubbery black matte finish is pleasant to the touch and grippy
- Works with iOS 8.1

The case comes with a USB to microUSB cable, as well as a headphones extension pigtail (in case your headphone plug is too big to fit the small hole at the bottom of the case)

The Trianium is not only an excellent protective case, but it's also well engineered, thin, and holds a large amount of juice for the power hungry iPhone 6. Very highly recommended.

As an active iPhone user I need some additional power to get my phone to last through the day. And while the battery in the new iPhone is larger, the new iOS system eats up more power, so I still end up needing a bit more charge to get to the end of the day.

Here is a breakdown of the product features:

Protection:
The case feels solid and sturdy and has a nice smooth texture. It doesn't add a lot of bulk and weight to my phone but it is not ridiculously thin and brittle feeling. It also has a raised edge around the screen to protect it from getting scratched.

Power:
The battery case adds an additional 3100mAh to my power supply so I basically get another full charge for my phone. The power button makes it easy to control the flow of power and top off my phones battery as needed.

Ports and Buttons:
The audio port is a little hindered by the case, however they include an extender adaptor piece so for me I don't mind. With this extender adaptor I can still use my headphones and have great audio quality. The silence switch is easily accessible and the volume and control buttons work perfectly. The buttons feel like they are made well and won't break off after a few times of use. I haven't tested that yet but I'm hopeful. The camera and flash are unhindered and I can still get full use from them.

Compatibility/Convenience:
My favorite part about this case is it is compatible with the newest version of iOS! The case is a little hard to remove, but I don't mind that. I'd rather it be a little tough to remove than comes off easily.
