Very attractive. Puts out a lot of light for only 9 watts.

One thing that I like is the light shines out and down (onto the things that you want to be lit), but not into your eyes (dazzling you so that you can't see as well).

Because of the way that the fixture directs the light, it does not shine up into the sky causing light pollution. But never fear -- this is not a fixture only for dark sky fans. It is quite bright and puts a lot of light where it needs to go.

Porch light is very bright, castin a clean white light over a wide area. The bottom of the lamp is open, so light shines directly below it was well as out to the sides. Installation was straightforward, as the unit comes preassembled.

Look, fit and finish is great. Unfortunately, I bought four of these in November, 2015 and here it is March, 2016 and one of them already quit. Amazon won't accept a return so I guess I have to write the manufacturer now? Will update review if I get anywhere. This was purported to last 37 years at 3 hours per day if I recall correctly. I got nowhere near that claim.

Great lantern! It is a bit small but delivers a nice bright light. It delivers 500 lumens from only 9W. It is ideal for outdoor garage lights. It may be too small for a porch light, but that's just my personal taste.
