I would have given these a 4 because I was starting to like them but I've had them just passed the returnable window of a month and they've already started to fall apart. The sole looks like it's just glued on. Very unhappy...

Despite a few gripes about comfort, these shoes are pretty awesome. They are so incredibly lightweight that you can barely even tell they're there when wearing. These shoes serve only one purpose for me -- weightlifting.

They are comfortable enough to wear in the weight room and stable enough to give good support while doing compound lifts such as bench press, squat, dead lift, and any other lift that requires a push against them. One problem I had when they were new out of the box was the lack of traction. Most weight rooms I've experienced don't have super clean floors, so the dust would cause them to slip. I fixed this by wearing them on concrete and "scuffing" the bottoms up slightly. This gave me much better traction on the gym floor.

They are NOT great for me when it comes to running, jumping, or any impact exercises. They offer very little cushion and are relentless on my shins and arches. I would not recommend them for running in.

They are very stylish and have a minimal but "cool" look to them. They're also very well ventilated and keep your feet feeling comfortable from a temperature perspective.

Overall, I would recommend these shoes for weight lifters and for those who only do low-impact exercises. For running or cross-training, I'd stick with something with a little more support and cushion.

I wear a size 10. So, I got a 10. I have some extra wiggle room but possibly a 9.5 could be too snug. Overall, satisfied with the fit. It is a wide shoe, and I consider my foot to be somewhat wide. I was a little surprised there. These shoes are light and look really good (solid black). Minimal design. My one big complaint is that if your sock doesn't cover your ankle all the way it will rub the *bleep* out of your ankle. I have socks to resolve this problem, but I learned the hard way from a thinner, shorter pair.

DISCLOSURE: Purchased at a New Balance store. I fluctuate between a size 14 and 13, so it's hard to order shoes online. I tried the 14 at the store and they were huge, so I got the 13 and the fit is perfect.

I'm a HUGE fan of the Minimus line. The MT110 is my favorite trail shoe (I'm on my third pair), the MO20 leather is my casual shoe, I just retired (after nearly three years of workouts) the MX20v1, and I love the MW735 (NB, please bring this back as it's the MOST comfortable shoe I own). The MX20v3 sucked. period. The fit was sloppy and after 26 hours of indoor gym use, the Vibram pods began to delaminate. Kudos to Amazon for allowing a return just a few days past the return deadline.

Because of my disappointment with the MX20v3, I went to Reebok.com and ordered the CrossFit Nano 4.0. While I liked the roomy toe box, they were too stiff and the toe overlay is uncomfortable. Those went back to the store and that's what lead me back to give the MX20v4 a try. And I can honestly say, I love them! The last that NB uses for the Minimus line fits my fit so well, better than any other shoe. Just right in the heel, snug in the mid-foot, and a nice roomy toe box. I think the upper material choice for v3 was the problem. The MT110 is a plastic type upper and suits me very well, so these go along with those as far as fit and feel.

I prefer the upper material over the v3. The overlay seems much stronger and more comfortable. So far, so good. I recommend these.

I'm a loyalist to the New Balance Minimus line, but I've had issues a few times with the sizing. These are incredibly comfortable shoes, but you can see they tend to be inconsistent between versions. Pictured are two size 11 shoes. The MX20v4 on the right is clearly larger. I'm returning mine for 10.5s, and I recommend buying a half-size down if you've had previous versions of this shoe.

I have been a fan of the Reebok CrossFit Nano U-Form Cross Training Shoes and after a lot of use I went in search of my next favorite shoe a) the nanos were wearing and b) it seemed like my balance exercises were suffering. Bought the Reebok nano 3 (CF74) and after a month or so I noticed my ankles were sore. I do a lot of lunges and plyometrics but it took me a while to figure out the the sole (hardness) and sides of the shoe were not allowing my ankle to move in deep side lunges. (I think the Reeboks would be great for lifting but they really make you exaggerate the side movement (think side lunge or jumping side to side) since your feet are perfectly aligned to the floor with a harder more rigid sole) Ok, on to the next shoe, the New Balance Men's MX20v4 Minimus.

The new balance shoe weighs about as much as a pair of wool socks and are very comfortable. They are a little wide in the toe box, (I'm usually and D or W) if you have narrow feet, you may want to look elsewhere. Very comfortable for my workouts, barely know they are there. I feel like I have improved stability for balance exercises. As for running...I'm not a real runner type, but I'm thinking these would be just ok, just not for a marathon, or a lot of outdoor work.
