I bought the large because I have the small one in white. I can wear it, but zero chance of getting earphones under it...plus it is fairly tight on my noggin. Not too tight that I cannot wear it comfortably, but too much so to fit anything else in there. I've had the small one for two previous winters. This one is simply loose. Grrr. I can sew it to make it smaller, but was hoping this would fit nicely and support my desire to wear earbuds under it.
As others have mentioned...there is VERY LITTLE stretch to this style band. I knew that from experience with my other one. It has the thermal lining in it that I have grown to love from Columbia....thin product with superior warmth. I simply do not recommend this for stylish wear, I've always used it for walking the dogs, running, playing in the snow with the kids, etc... It will not work well for ladies wishing to maintain a cute hairdo.

The Columbia Headring keeps my ears nice and toasty! I purchased a Large/Extra-Large and it's still a tight fit. I always thought my head was on the small side for an adult but it's snug. There isn't much "stretch" to the headring so pay attention to the size measurements and do measure your head. The fabric is lightweight and thin but the inside thermal reflective surface holds in the heat and blocks the wind. You could easily wear this under your hat for extra warmth.

Our daughter walks her dog everyday and needed something to keep her ears warm. We bought her the Small/Medium in black for Christmas. We live in the Pacific Northwest where temps average in the 30's - 50's F in the winter. So far so good...
Our daughter is 5'5", has a petite build and has average thickness of hair and the small/medium was a perfect fit. I bought myself the Large/XL years ago as I am 5'8", average build, but have thick hair. Also after a couple washings we have yet to see any fading.
Love these headbands!

I had a felling this would run small so I bought the large/x Large, my head is absolutely averaged sized head for a man, also this doesnt stretch a lot either so if you think you're a medium, get the size up. Good quality and keeps my ears very warm.

Not as stretchy as I'd like. It's plenty warm, and isn't as thick under a helmet as it seems.

I have other ones that are less fuzzy and just as warm, but stretch better.

This headband was extremely tight & uncomfortable. I feel like I must have ordered a childs size though I didn't. The product itself does it's job, but I would suggest ordering a size up so that it fits comfortably as it is not a stretchy/flexible material.
