I love this mouse. I love that the back and forward buttons are on the left and right sides of the mouse. All the others have them all in a non-symmetrical way, and I vastly prefer this. I'd like to have another button or few, but 6 special buttons? That's pretty good.

If you have the g300 and want to upgrade, don't bother: it's exactly the same mouse with a new color scheme and name within its software. I only bought this one because my g300 broke.

Also, I use it with OSX and I'm not a gamer -- I just love having lots of buttons. To use it on OSX, though, you need to configure it on a Windows machine (or VM like Parallels) and it helps a ton to have a macro program for it on OSX. I use ControllerMate.

The Logitech G300s is a perfect mouse for a claw-grip user. I myself, however, am a palm grip user. My hands are fairly small though and I can cup the mouse pretty nicely. My hand doesn't cramp up either with this mouse in comparison to my SteelSeries Sensei RAW. The G300s is simply plug-and-play. Windows automatically downloads the necessary drivers for the mouse to work.

In my opinion, the extra buttons on the top of the mouse are much more convenient than side buttons. I can easily press all four of the buttons on top unlike my SteelSeries Sensei RAW's side buttons. The G300s is also ambidextrous which makes it great for left handers and right handers. Many people also prefer ambidextrous mice in FPS games like CounterStrike Global Offensive.

The mouse is very responsive and there are no issues with it so far. I've owned it for about two weeks now and I can safely say that there has been no problems with it. I'm still obviously adjusting to sensitivity and the new shape of the mouse in comparison to my old mouse, but this mouse is a sure beast. The buttons are clicky and tactile and there are no scroll-wheel issues, loud pitch noises, hums, or any other technical glitches with the mouse.

The mouse has some really cool features in Logitech's Gaming Software program, such as changing the color of the stripes on both sides of the mouse. The color choices are White, Yellow, Purple, Red, Teal, Green, and blue (you can turn the lights off as well). Each color is vibrant and beautiful. I love to switch to a new color each day. You can also change the DPI from as low as 250 all the way up to 2500. Polling rate starts from 125 and goes all the way up to 1000 which is excellent.Read more ›

I've recently tried the G300s, the G402, and the G502. I was trying to replace my good ol' trusty MX518 that I'd been using since college. The first MX518 I owned last a very long time but the last one died after only a couple years of use and started going haywire and turning off and on randomly so I wasn't too keen on getting another MX518. The first mouse I tried was the G300s. I wasn't sure if I'd like the placement of the top side buttons but they were actually more comfortable to hit than I thought they would be. I got used to them in no time and was pretty satisfied with the mouse in general, even though I was missing having back/forward next to my thumb. The shape of the mouse is very ergonomic and excellent in general, I think I like this one's shape the best of the three. There was only one problem, the mouse wheel. The mouse wheel is horrible. Instead of solid, distinct notches on the wheel, it has a mushy, sloppy feel to it. It was hard to tell at times if the mouse had moved to the next notch or not. And perhaps worst of all, if you rolled the wheel back and forth within one notch, it would create "misfires" and register the mouse wheel clicking to the next notch when you hadn't actually moved it yet. Caveat: if you're only going to use this mouse for browsing the web, this will probably not affect you at all. However, if you're going to use it in an application where distinct mouse wheel notches are important, say in an image application or a video game where that might perform an action, than this mouse will be wholly unsuitable. I know this is a more inexpensive mouse, at least by Logitech standards, but to me there is no excuse for this. Maybe they were trying to straddle the line between a free-scrolling mouse and a notching mouse and in that regard you could say they were somewhat successful but since I use this for both games and in other applications where distinct notches are important, this just was not a good fit for me.

Very comfortable - I bought another brand and hated it. Reviewed it and sending it back. I ordered this one because I'm LEFT HANDED and I wanted more buttons. This allows me to easily access 4+ extra buttons on top. The previous one had them on the side tops which were hard to find when gaming. The other one was slippery on the sides and very high tech looking - but I think they put more into the lights than the operation and feel. This one feels great with rubberized sides. I may love it (5 start) but have only used it for 3 minutes as of this review.

Other mouse had NICE FIBER CORD (seemed sturdy) this one has THIN seemingly cheap cord? but who knows - I like the lighter cheap cord as it feels like no cord at all - if it holds up - then this is better than fiber wrapped right?
