I ordered this March Birthstone jewelry set for my tween daughter and it's lovely. It comes in a rather cheap looking, cardboard presentation box with fabric lining inside. The box is irregular and doesn't line up right. Anyway, it works just fine but I wish it would be a little more presentable. If you can look past that, the actual contents - earrings, rings and pendant - are superb and beautifully crafted.
The color of the synthetic aquamarine birthstones is pretty much spot-on in the Amazon product images. The heart-shaped birthstones are probably about 3/4 of a carat each for the pendant and the ring, and slightly smaller for the two earrings. Each birthstone is surrounded by white-topaz pieces in a heart shaped sterling silver base. The side-wall is hollowed out in the middle. It has a lighter and leaner feel to it.
The ring is adult size 7, a tad too big for my daughter. The imprints on the inner side of the ring read "PAJ", "925" and "China". PAJ stands for Prime Art and Jewel, the maker of this jewelry set. 925 is the assurance that this is genuine sterling silver. Similar imprints are also found in other pieces of the jewelry set.
The pendant is simply gorgeous. The aquamarine gem is exquisitely complemented by the tiny white topaz pieces surrounding it. The upper chain loop also has a few tiny white topaz pieces embedded in it. The chain on the necklace is 18" long. It is very thin and delicate, probably too thin and fragile for everyday wear.
The earrings feature the same intricate design but slightly smaller in size. For the life of me, I can't be sure if the color of the aquamarine gemstones in the earrings is a tad lighter than that of the gemstones in the pendant and the ring.Read more ›

OK, before I review note that I am NOT a gemologist, just a typical consumer who happens to own a lot of jewelry both in this type of price range, and above. I will be giving this review in layman's terms as I don't know all of the fancy terminology.
I would compare this set to one you would find similarly priced in any department store for a similar set around the holidays (on sale). Note that the wording of all the descriptions say curated collection: this means the stones are lab created so by no means should you be paying a natural gemstone price. Hence, the current listing of $99 shouldn't wow you because you can't compare these to natural diamond/gemstone prices. That being said, lab created stones are very shiny, pretty to look at, and your friends won't know unless you tell them (or they are a gemologist).
The metal weight behind these pieces seems to be lacking to me. While they are Rhodium-plated silver. The ring size isn't listed, but it's BIG! I'm an average 5'6" woman in good health and weight and I couldn't wear it on any finger other than my index. Because of the Rhodium-plated silver you CANNOT size this ring. the plating would be ruined and the ring would look horrible. While the Rhodium plating keeps the silver from tarnishing, it is a plating - a top-coat. Breaking the seal to size the ring would require re-dipping the band and now you're talking about taking out the stones and putting them back. Not worth it!
The chain is a minimal, light-weight chain that has questionable longevity. As an adult I can wear these without issues, but there's no way I'd hand this off to my teenage daughter who goes through these types of chains like wet spaghetti noodles. They snap left and right because they aren't very strong.Read more ›
