My brother in law sent me a pack of the Inked by Blackcat Permanent Fabric Markers as a gift, which was a lovely surprise! So after having had some time to "play" with them I thought I would share my experience with others who were contemplating purchasing a pack for himself/herself or as a gift for someone else.

The pack comes with very clear instructions on the back, so I had no trouble in understanding what to do. (I've never used Fabric Markers before, so this was extremely helpful.) The packaging is really cool, with example designs on it that got my creative juices flowing, but what I like is the convenience of being able to store the markers in the packet, unlike those blister packs that are of no use once you have opened them. I also like that the packaging is made from cardboard making it more environmentally friendly.

The markers themselves were really easy to apply to the material, and as promised the color didn't bleed out. The pen tips allowed me to add finer details to my design, but also colored in larger areas without a problem. Sometimes a little fluff from the fabric I was drawing on would stick to the tip of the pen, but this was easily removed with a clean tissue.

There is a nice variety of colors to choose from, and I love how bright they are on the fabric. I've already washed one of my garments several times, and once again as promised, the color hasn't faded at all.

I had so much fun using these markers. I would definitely recommend them to anyone; beginners, artists, teenagers and even children, but I do see the manufacturer labels them as unsuitable for those three years and under. I also think they are a great gift idea, and I'm going to be purchasing some as birthday presents for my nieces and nephews. Plus I'll throw in a blank T-shirt for each to get them started.

DISCLAIMER: I was given these markers by the manufacturer for the express purpose of reviewing. This review is unbiased and
there have been no incentives given by the manufacturer.

This product is a set of 10 permanent facbric markers called "Inked" by Black Cat sales. Their purpose is to enable you to
create your own designs on shirts, caps, bags, shoes and essentially on any fabric type surface. The markers are non-toxic
and have ASTM and EN71 Approval.

The package the markers come in is well designed and contains all the information needed to ensure the correct use and care
of the markers. I think this is a good feature as it means there are no separate sets of instructions that can get lost.

The package is made of cardboard which I could see getting damaged/torn over time with the continual use of the markers so
it may pay to put the markers in a more solid container once you are fully conversant with their use. Or, simply be careful
when taking them in and out of the package.

The instructions on the back are straight forward and easy to understand which means there is no unnecessary learning
curve. One point that is made clear is the need to allow one colour to dry before using another. This is important for the
lighter colours especially so that the markers don't get adulterated by the darker colours. If you are buying these for
children I would stress that to them to ensure the markers remain in good long-term condition. The ink dries quickly
however which should reduce the "impatience" levels.

The colours are very vibrant and it is easy to see how an artistic person could use these markers to create outstanding

I bought these markers in order to draw on some canvas shoes, and while the quality is much better than some other brands that I tried (i.e. they don't bleed and they make clear marks), they dry out entirely too quickly. I was only able to finish one shoe before they were completely dried out. I don't think I'd buy them again for this reason.

Had to decorate some quilt squares and didn't want to spend $30 on pens I won't use much. These were perfect. Shipped quickly and they were very smooth to use. Not a terribly fine point on the end but pressing lighter gave a finer line. Vivid colors! Great for all kinds of fabric decorating crafts.

These markers are AMAZING! I have done LOTS of work and testing with fabric markers and these perform so much better than the rest. The colors are vibrant, the ink lasts, and there is no "spreading" of the ink when used on fabric. BRAVO, Blackcat!!

I am really disappointed in this product. I read reviews and I compared many markers and decided these were the ones for lack of bleed. Here is a picture of the no bleed, horrible. There is no way I can give these to someone.

These are nice colors but they are definitely not fine-tip. Also, I used them on a cotton-poly blend and they bled. Definitely test on a scrap piece before trying on your good pieces.
