My hair stylist used this on me a while back after a cut. She was cute, so I bought a jar from her. Turns out I Love it, so I bought another to keep in my gym bag. There are all sorts of hair styling products out there, from pomades to fibers to creams, and I don't pretend to know the intricacies of each. What I do know, is that this past is good for keeping short hair in place without giving it the wet/crusty or shiny look that I've gotten from other products. Odds are plenty of other brands make a paste that is comparable to this in that department, but the difference here is probably the scent. This stuff smells good. Its very manly. Like leather and tobacco. Honestly, I just picked two manly things there, I don't know what the actual scent is, but this stuff isn't fruity or flowery. It really does have a nice smell that I often find myself grabbing a nose full of whenever I open it. Also, while it may seem pricey, for short hair, 2oz will last months, as you only need to use a very small amount.

Product has a nice hold! This pomade doesn't leave shiny or greasy appearance and keeps my hair in style throughout the day. Another thing I really like about this product is its smell. I would describe it as a cherry tobacco type of smell... It's really nice and not too overpowering!

Not what I thought the product was going to produce. No quality at all. If you love the scent of whisky then you may enjoy this product because it stays with you all day and all night. I got this product thinking I too was going to like the whisky scent as well as the applicability - but No. That certainly wasn't the case. Since it's a paste, it doesn't "truly" style your hair (long or short). It does nothing but silken your hair with an overpowering aroma of whisky. I disliked the product so much I gave it to a buddy of mine in college, but after one use one my buddy's part, he didn't like it either. My buddy stated he didn't like the smell of the pomade, and he was unable to properly style his hair. This product doesn't have any hold, period. No good. Unless you have hair that measures six-feet in length, this product isn't for you.

Great product! My barber recommended this product. I was a little reluctant because of the price, but wow, was I impressed! I will never use another product. Also the smell is what gives it the cherry on top :)

UPDATE: It had been a while since I broke this stuff out but I thought I would give it another go today. In the interim, I had purchased a new hairdryer that was painted with this type of soft-touch coating they sometimes put on plastic goods. Today I tried this product and when I was done I looked down to find my hands bright red. I looked at my relatively new hairdryer and this stuff had basically dissolved the paint - it was now completely faded and even the print on some of the switches is no longer legible. I can no longer recommend this product at all due to its potential to damage your equipment. I have tried other similar products and have had nothing like this happen before. And this was rather instant and severe degradation. Definitely due to a chemical they use and something that should have been tested ahead of time. Boo! I should note that this did not happen on the other hairdryer I was using so its a coin toss as to whether it will ruin your stuff.

A caveat to this review - I am far from an expert in men hair products. My experience in this type of product is basically American Crew's Forming Cream and Fiber products and my perspective is largely based on my experience with those two products.

18.21 Paste is pretty thick but sort of melts when you rub it in your hands and then applies rather easily and evenly in your hair. I personally have been putting it in wet and blow drying my hair to sculpt it the way I want it. The Paste has a what I can only describe as a feathery hold. It is closest to the Crew Forming Cream but that tends to remain sticky and can sort of clump your hair together. Not the 18.Read more ›
