This is a GREAT adapter. I was afraid that it would be laggy, but it turns out that I was wrong - this runs buttery smooth since it goes through the display port.
I currently have my MacBook Pro connected to two monitors. One of them goes through this adapter, and the other goes through the USB port. The one that goes through this monitor is much faster and I absolutely love it! I watch all my videos on this one and I don't experience any lag whatsoever!
If you're looking for an adapter that isn't expensive (this is one of the cheapest ones I could find), while still maintaining quality, this is an amazing deal!
