The complex, alluring, spicy, aroma created by grinding fresh roasted coffee beans is amazing. Grinding coffee can be enjoyable and relatively simple.
This is a well made, ceramic burr grinder. Made with quality ceramic, stainless steel and heavy quality glass, all parts are washable, none will rust. Grinding coffee takes a little time and varies with the grind set, (A very fine grind takes the most time, more than I would spend but a fine, and above grind takes just a few minutes and the same amount of time as most manual coffee grinders do) with this unit, I am lucky because my husband loves the nostalgic ritual and the amazing aromas of grinding the coffee in our house, and I love having that perfect cup of coffee every morning.
There are at least a thousand different styles of coffee grinders available for home use but there are only two basic types. One is called a Blade Grinder (or coffee mill) and one is called a Burr Grinder.
BLADE GRINDERS:
Most are messy, noisy, fast and the coffee is not really ground but pulverized, the final ground coffee lacks consistency which means extraction is not smooth and complete, with various coffee ground sizes in each batch, you can never get that consistent perfect cup of coffee every morning.
