    While I think these shoes are well-made and are attractive, I can't get over the infernal SQUEAKING whenever I walk on a tile/linoleum/wood floor. It doesn't appear to be the sole - it's something inside, near the arch. Squeak squeak squeak with every step, maddening in its consistency, assaulting my ears and my very soul until I am nearly driven to madness. I've tried all the remedies - powder in the shoe, wearing them until whatever it is stops, lacing them tighter, cleaning and lubricating the outers - nothing helps. I fear I shall be driven insane, wandering the Earth forevermore, heralded by the squeaking of my shoes.

    These are nowhere near as comfortable as my other Rockports. The style is nice and comfort is somewhere in the average range.

    Feb 28 Update:
    Ok, I was wrong. The fact is, I find myself wearing these shoes far more often than the shoes that more immediately comfortable. The other Rockports feel more cushy and slipper-like, but these new shoes turn out to be plenty comfortable. The style is sharp, and the color seems to match any work/casual outfit. These are my go-to shoes.

    I love the shoes, but they arrived with a TWO INCH GASH - looks like an a utility blade accidentally pierced the box and cut the leather. The damage was noticeable to me, but hard to see unless you were on top of the show. I did not want to be burdened with the replacement, I was annoyed, but I kept them

    I would recommend these shoes otherwise. They fit well and are comfortable,

    I wear an 11.5 running show, and 11 in dress shoes and boots. The 11 in these was a bit on the long side, but not unwearable. They felt comfortable to wear.

    While the construction seemed fine, the leather on the shoes seems a bit cheap. Though it was brand new, and they're waterproof, they came spotted, like it had some exposure to water. I ordered two pairs, both had the same spotted look - I wouldn't expect these to hold up after wearing in the rain. They just don't look as nice in person, as they do online.

    While I can wear these shoes all day without any real discomfort, and the width is as expected, my issue is actually with the tongue and the top portion of where you tie the shoes. At least for me I find that I had to stretch them out a bit and I have to make sure I don't tie the shoes TOO securely or I'll end up with discomfort on the top of my my foot.
