I received this product as part of Mattel's Play, Rate, and Review program.
My 5 year old daughter is very pleased with this Elsa doll and has really enjoyed her.
We are pretty big Frozen fans in our household and my daughter has two other Elsa dolls. This one has been by far the favorite. She loves how Elsa can use her icy powers and "freeze" things. Elsa comes with three icy snowflakes and Marshmallow, the snowman monster.
Elsa's left arm is slightly curved, and her right arm is extended. There is a hole in the sleeve of her right arm so you can fit in one of the snowflakes. Aim her at whatever you are wanting her to freeze and raise her left arm. You will see a blue light flash as it launches the snowflake. The snowflake will shoot out up to a foot, so be sure to use caution when you have her shoot. It's pretty easy, and my daughter was able to figure it out before I was able to even open the instructions. She's loved having a doll that can do something similar to toys of her brother's she's envied for years.
You aren't able to bend Elsa's legs or move her arms without her being in the snowflake shooting position. That leaves her to be a little limited, being her only downside. That hasn't bothered my daughter one bit. She's had so much fun having Elsa freeze everything in the house. She lost interest in Marshmallow because it can be a little repetitive to have Elsa just shoot at him.
The three snowflakes come in dark blue, light blue, and clear. I don't like the fact that one is clear because it makes it very hard to find if Elsa misses her target. It would be great if they all came in dark blue. I would recommend a parent keep up with them until they are ready to be used. I'm a little afraid of what will happen if we lose them, but so far so good!Read more ›
