After having 4 kids, my wife and I have gone through more then our fair share of diapers. Over the years, we have used huggies, pampers, luvs, kirkland (costco), seventh generation.... and even some off brands in a pinch.

While we found that most diapers are more or less the same, sometimes there is a shining star. For my wife, seventh generation diapers have been her brand of choice.

These were never the most economical. Though they do tend to be not only more eco-friendly, but use a lot less chemicals to absorbe urine. Though they are a little more expensive, it wasn't hugely so.

So it was with curiosity that we tried the touch of cloth diapers. The basic idea of these diapers is that they are supposed to feel more like cloth diapers, without the hassle of dealing with cloth diapers.

One of the big differences, is these diapers use unbleached natural cotton. Also, these diapers are free from most of the other chemicals, lotions, petroleum and fragrances that are so common in other diapers.

This can be a huge deal for babies with very sensitive skin. These diapers may reduce or even eliminate rashes due to the chemicals.

Having talked to other people who use these diapers, some of them complained that they were less absorbent. While we didn't notice that, keep an eye on them for the first few days.

One thing that you don't get with these diapers is the cute baby art. Many, if not nearly all of the other diaper competitors dress up the diaper with cute animals, patterns or even famous children's characters (disney, nickelodeon, sesame street, etc). While these are completely unnecessary, for some this may be a con.

Like other health care products, I recommend you try it and come to your own conclusions.

I got these diapers for my 5 month old grandson (size 2- he's 15 lbs) who has been wearing Honest diapers all of his life so far. My daughter is very particular and refuses to put anything on him which might contain harmful chemicals. She tried Huggies and he broke out, so that was it for her. Knowing what we know about commercial diapers which are filled with chemicals, sticking with a diaper that is made of pure unbleached cotton gives peace of mind. No frills or cute stamped figures on the diaper. Plain and simple the way we like it.

These Seventh Generation Touch of Cloth diapers average about 10cents less per diaper (at 25 cents per diaper) than the Honest diaper, (at 35 cents per diaper) and they are every bit as good as the Honest diapers.
Our guy goes through about 8 to 10 diapers per day. At one dollar per day savings that's $30 per month in her pocket which is nothing to sneeze at when on a tight budget.

They really do feel like real cotton and are extremely soft. Baby appears very comfortable while wearing.
So far we have not been disappointed in the absorbency of the diapers.

My daughter is thrilled with these Seventh Generation Touch of Cloth diapers made in Vermont and is ready to make the switch from Honest. Highly recommended.

Update March 29, 2015:
My daughter continues to report to me how much she loves these diapers. Today she reported that he produced a huge BM like never before in his life (he just started solid foods) and the diaper held it all in and did not leak at all.

These are really nice diapers. We are cloth users, but sometimes use sposies when we go out of town or need a break from the endless laundry. These fit slim without being too thin. The tabs secure well and stay put. They don't have the chemical smell I've noticed with other diapers. They also absorb quite a bit without leaking. My daughter is a skinny 11 pounds, so below the weight limit for these, and they still worked for her. Makes me think they may run a tad small. I've tried multiple brands over the years and the fit of these can't be beat. They are perfect for little bums. My favorite part is the simplicity, no characters or crazy colors.

see edit at end to see why we dropped to one star!

I don't know if I find them anything special. So they do have cotton, but it's the backsheet that's cotton--the part that's not against the baby! These make a big deal on the box about "the first disposable diapers made with pure unbleached cotton" and "backsheet made with unbleached cotton and no petrochemical plastic". The cuff and liner layer are still plastic! So what's against the baby's skin is all still plastic, so what's really the difference? I feel like they're trying to be all natural but only as far as marketing-speak will take them... Half the reviews say they don't have petroleum based plastics or synthetic fibers when they do--great job marketing!

As far as the diapers go, they're ok so far. I'll update in a day or two once I've used them more, but at the moment they're just ok. They don't seem to fit quite as well as the huggies we've been using nor do I think they hold as much without leaking. The straps have about a third of the velcro as the huggies so I'm hoping they stay on well. If they're going to be this expensive, I expect good diapers too!

EDIT AND DROP TO ONE STAR:
They won't stay on our baby!!! I had noticed before that they have about 1/2 the velcro when compared to the Huggies Snug and Dry. See attached picture! We've used Huggies, Pampers, Target brand, Walmart brand, etc. In the almost nine months of her life, we've never had a diaper fall off. She is a very avid crawler right now and the Huggies we've been using have stayed on her great. But in two days of using the Seventh Generation Touch of Cloth Diapers they've fallen off her twice!

The first time was early this morning.
