This stuff is great, but be careful. Follow the instructions PRECISELY. This stuff cures FAST. It has about a 5 minute work time, which seems like a lot of time, until you work with larger items. I had a full sized 3d printed sword I wanted to use this with. My mistake is that I tried to do one side of the sword at a time. It ended up dripping down the other side of the sword and cured and was very difficult to clean up. I ended up hanging the sword up and doing the whole thing at once, which turned out much better. BE WARNED: you will lose most small and fine details, as this is meant to fill the gaps of the 3d print. You can go back and use a dremel tool to cut out any fine details that were filled in. Once I had it applied, it only took very little sanding by hand to get it ready for painting, and the paint stuck nicely. All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this for any type of 3D print, because it is safer than acetone vapor smoothing, and it works with all filaments.

Before buying it I thought that it could "melt" a little the surface of a 3D print and then it would harden it and make it look softer and shinier, nope it just a protective shell that when dries it's completely transparent.
Leaving that aside it still makes the finishing of the 3D printed part better to how they were right after printing; plus if you work by glueing parts together this extra coating leaves the works even more solidly glued!

I tested this out on a print, and it doesn't seem worth it at all to me.

Cons:
Still has not fully cured after 4 days
Material is difficult to work with in various ways
Very strong and persistent smell both when applying and on print

I was careful to mix the A and B materials as instructed, but the coating is still tacky after 4 days on my print. The stuff is very sticky so dust or hairs can get onto the print and stick, and anything you touch it to will tend to stick as well (like say if you put it on aluminum foil to coat it or try and pick it up with gloves). Anything it gets on it's hard to get off of, including your hands, I tried picking up my still tacky print with bare hands a couple of days later, and it's a pain to clean off your hands. They want you to use thin coats (and I tried) but it mixes up quite thick so this is difficult. It has a very strong fishy odor (which I'm hoping will dissipate from the print) it lasted a little more than a day in the room where I mixed and applied it, and the print still stinks currently. The materials are dangerous so you have to use gloves, make sure it doesn't get on anything, use in a ventilated space etc. It will absolutely gum up whatever brush, mixer and container you use to mix and apply it, although turpentine or something would probably clean the brush. The instructions say to use plastic not glass to mix it in (didn't research why), and the reaction between A and B is exothermic (generates heat) so you also have to be careful what you are using for mixing as the heat might easily melt some plastic containers. I only mixed a small amount and it got surprisingly hot. Finally I don't think it has even really improved the look of my print, might be good for getting a smoother surface to paint, but overall I wish I had not bothered. Disappointing.

Will keep trying and update if I figure out how to get better results later.

Works as intended. Have a different measure tool handy, the medicine type measured cap isn't too useful at batches to cover more than a few inches. Worked very well on PLA. Becomes super smooth. I'll also be using it to coat wax hands my kids made.

Wonderful for smoothing out the textures of 3D prints and worbla. Only 1-2 layers is necessary to achieve a smooth ultra glossy finish.

This is also fantastic for sealing, smoothing, and reinforcing pink foam.

Used this for the first time over the past weekend. Worked great! Had to use 2 coats to get a perfectly flat finish (the first layer didn't quite fill in all the layer ridges in my print), and you do need to work quickly. Also, you MUST MUST mix it vigorously for the recommended 1 minute to make sure it mixes thoroughly.

Use cheap disposable brushes and be sure to wear gloves - the stuff is VERY sticky, and there's no way to wash it out of a paint brush once done, so it's a 1 and toss situation.

I don't use it on all my prints, but on the ones that I want to look really nice and/or need added strength, this is a must!

This works exactly as advertised. If you mix it incorrectly it won't harden, it is a clear coat which means it won't visually hide the layers on a print. If you can't follow very simple instructions (mix 2:1) or if you think this product will do something magical to improve your print quality then I would suggest you pass on this product. If you want to add a hard clear coat to your print so you can paint it then this works exactly as advertised.

This product is great! I use it on my 3D prints. Without adding paint, it gives it just a nice glossy look and a smooth feel. It of course doesn't get rid of the 3D print look, such as the layers, etc. depending on the print. However, if you paint over the XTC-3D finish, you get a nicer, smooth painted surface. This is better than if I had painted the 3D print directly. Love it.
