This is my first attempt to use something other than microwave popcorn. It took me a long time to decide on a popcorn machine but it took even longer to decide which kind of popcorn to use. There were sooo many to choose from and the reviewers seem to have such differing opinions that it seems to all boil down to personal preference. So here are my observations.
1.The package arrived quickly and it was easy dealing with the company.
2. I absolutely love the container it comes in. (once I use all the popcorn I will save it for other things)
2. A. The wide mouth on the container makes it fairly easy to scoop out the kernals with a measuring cup.
3. The kernals smelled fresh when I opened the seal under the cap.
4. Very few unpopped kernals.
5. Love that it is organic and non gmo. It helps take munching on popcorn from a guilty pleasure to a pleasure. (compare to microwave popcorn)
6. (This is the tricky part) The taste: There is a huge difference between this and microwave popcorn. That being said, I had some popcorn from a machine similar to ours but the popcorn used was a cheap generic type brand and there is a huge difference between this and that. I won't say this popcorn is better because that is a matter of personal taste. What I will say is that the difference is similar to the difference between generic canned vegetables and fresh from the farm organic vegetables.
In fact this popcorn reminded me of corn pulled directly from the stalk and immediately roasted with butter and salt. For some people, it make take some time to get used to, but for me... It brought back memories of being a kid and traveling to the pumpkin farm to get a pumpkin and having fresh roasted corn while we searched for the perfect one. Isn't that part of the reason we all eat popcorn in the first place; to bring back that warm comfy feeling of a simpler time?

I wanted to eat something healthier than microwave popcorn, so I bought a good air popper and went looking for organic popcorn. I hate the idea of eating pesticides!

After doing lots of research and reading reviews, I ordered a small amount of Great Northern Organic Yellow to try it out. My first thought was "wow, this tastes so FRESH!" The thing about microwave popcorn, is it always seems coated in something and even the plain has that orange film in the bag -chemicals - ugh. With Great Northern, you are tasting the popcorn and nothing but the popcorn. Yum!

If you want to, you can add stuff to it after popping - I sprinkle Kernel Seasonings on it, or sometimes just eat it plain. It's low fat, and low cal, and you can eat a big bowl of it without feeling like you are doing something bad for your health.

I went back and ordered the large container of Great Northern (this one) and I love it. It keeps the popcorn fresh, and I love the wide mouth that allows me to scoop 1/4 cup into it, instead of trying to pour the kernels out.

Great product! I highly recommend!

This popcorn is by far the best we have had and now the only popcorn we buy. Our family loves to make popcorn with it in the Great Northern Popcorn Original Stainless Steel Stove Top 6-1/2-Quart Popcorn Popper we also got on amazon. The kids think its a lot of fun making popcorn on the stove and us parents love knowing exactly what is in the food we are feeding our family. Store bought popcorn is full of crap and the popping bags are the worst with GMOs and horrible ingredients. This stuff tastes so much better, is fun and easy to make, and is great for you, what else can you ask for?! I use coconut oil, salt and sometimes butter and thats all you need. If you really want to make a sweet treat then look up recipes for kettle corn with marshmallows....wow.

PS GNP - thanks for making a better package, this container is much better than the plastic bag, stays fresher longer because you can seal the lid.

I had been buying another brand of organic, non GMO popcorn. It wasn't bad, but came in a poly bag that isn't as easy to use as this handy canister. I just pour out what I need and then screw the lid back on to seal in the freshness.

The old product was a bit dusty and there seemed to be a lot of hulls to deal with. After eating my snack, out came the toothpicks and the dental floss. That's not necessary anymore. I don't know why, but with the Great Northern corn there seems to be about 90% fewer hulls.

This popcorn tastes great and provides about a 99%+ pop rate. There are very few "old maids" left in the popper when I'm finished popping. I'm totally satisfied with this product and think you will be too.
