Directions
Feeding Guidelines To feed alone: Feed about 2 cans for an 8-lb. Adult cat daily. To mix with dry: Reduce dry food by 1/4 to 1/3 cup per can. For more precision, replace based on calories. Adjust food to maintain ideal body weight. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day. Refrigerate unused portion for up to three days. Feed at room temperature.

I RARELY write reviews but this product is fabulous. I free feed nitro max indoor weight control (chicken) dry food to my cats and wanted to supplement high quality canned food for more real meat protein and easier eating for my older cat that has lost some teeth. This is the only canned cat food that all 6 of my cats will eat (and I've tried everything from cheap to crazy expensive)! They gobble it up. There's never caked food left on the plate for me to scrub off, and even though it is Cod-flavored, it's also heavy on chicken and is eaten quickly so it doesn't stink up the house... Also the "MINCED" food is great! Not only are the ingredients HEALTHY (real meat and not corn and grains), all my cats love the little bit of gravy it's packaged in and since it's already cut up into small pieces they can pick up with their tongue (unlike some pate foods that are just a hockey puck of corn and byproducts) they can dig in and eat it quickly regardless of if they're missing teeth or don't like the pate stuff. I feed this mostly for my most senior cat because she lost some teeth before I adopted her so I supplement her food with this and give a little bit to all the other kitties too! No one cries because *they* don't like *that* kind of food. I know this makes me sound crazy, but I hope the review helps somebody! It's difficult to find good foods for your pet kids.

While this cat food might be called chunky, don't worry about the size of the chunks. It's more like a smooth pate with some tiny bits. There is a lot to like about this cat food. Not only is it grain-free, with chicken, chicken broth, and chicken liver being the first ingredients, it is one of those cat foods that actually smells okay. No rancid odor or smell of rotted fish and meat. Those small cans are the perfect size for one cat.

My senior cat loves this food and is able to digest it well. She stopped eating the solid parts of the previous canned food I was giving her and was only licking the gravy, so I needed to find a very soft food that she could eat with a minimum amount of chewing. She loves this food and will eat it straight out of the can but also likes it with hot water mixed in (esp if it has been chilled). I dont mind that it only comes in the 3oz can size because she eats several small meals a day (half a can at each meal) so her meals remain fresh, refrigerated at most for a few hours at a time.

We are on our 5th case of this food. We have two cats who share a can of this daily blended in with a Blue Buffalo brand grain free food. We do this to provide good hydration and digestive health for the cats since eating dry food only is less than ideal. Our cats love the taste of this food. It does have a strong smell, but smell is a very appealing factor. I like the moisture level and consistency which make it easy to add to the dry food. They never leave any of this wet food in the bowl and since switching to this food combined with the other grain free diet both cats have more energy, healthy coats and the hefty one has slowly lost 2 lbs. (We have taken them off full feed as well so that change probably gets credit for the weight loss!)

I have a male cat with a VERY sensitive stomach. I have him on Nutro Chicken and Brown Rice dry food, however my son decided to "switch things up" and bought a different flavor for him and our younger female cat. The vomiting began, non-stop. I wasn't sure if he had swallowed something (he has a bad habit of eating paper) or if it was the food. I was also in the middle of a major surgery myself. Well, many vet trips and craziness later, I took matters into my own hands and ordered this. I'm happy to report the vomiting has ceased!!!! Both cats are happy. Thank you!!!!

My tiny 17 year old tabby mostly loves this, and I love that it's not bad for her. It's a very smooth pate, full of good fats and moisture and so soft. I find the duck variety the best smooth texture, then the chicken, and finally the turkey is the only one that can be slightly bettered by a tablespoon of water mixed in (but it is her favorite). This is an excellent variety of food for cats with tooth problems or dehydration. Because my girl is very picky and set in her ways, she won't eat her nutro more than 2 meals in a row. I have been trying to transition her off of friskies for a while now, but she has anorexia issues so in combination with her age I can't really press the issue; if she wants friskies she gets it. but at least now I've found something healthy i can give her most of the time, so i feel better about her diet. I often give her the kitten variety, simply because it has more fat, and she is always in need of a pound or two. I would dock a star because I feel like it is a little too pricey, but frankly I'm just happy and grateful she's eating well.

My kittens LOVE this food, and I am very happy looking at the ingredient list. I've even gotten comments (from people with far more sensitive noses than my own) that it smells delicious from a human perspective! (I always consider that a good sign.)

I originally had my two kittens eating Wellness Core, but then one of them decided that she didn't like it. In order to find a new food, I offered them a sampler plate of the Wellness Core, Nutro, Blue Buffalo, and Natural Balance (the store was out of regular Wellness, so I didn't get a chance to test that one). They both immediately went for the Nutro, and have continued to gobble it up meal after meal for over a month now. I am very happy to have a food that they love and that has a simple ingredient list of meat, broth, and vitamins/minerals.

The food is extremely moist and easy for the kittens to eat. I plan to have them try the minced salmon kitten food as well, just to give them a little variety, but am disappointed that it's not available for auto-reorder on Amazon...

One of my kittens had a kind of rough and matte coat when I adopted her, but since switching to Nutro she has gotten extremely sleek and glossy. Now both kittens are so soft I'd swear they were rabbits if I didn't know better, and they are clearly incredibly healthy. No dandruff to speak of, surprisingly little shedding, and they are as playful and intelligent as you could wish for from a kitten.

Because they liked the Nutro wet food so much I tried the Nutro kibble as well, and the kittens love that too. (They each get a total of one can of wet food a day, split into two meals, and free-feed on kibble.) I feel comfortable and confident about feeding them this food, and will use it when they become adults as well. I only wish that it came in 5.5oz cans, at a more economical price, so that I could afford to feed them more of it...
