Nice boots but much too big in the calves for me

I purchased these because several reviewers stated they were very tight in the calf area. I have a hard time finding boots that don't gap at the top so I thought I'd give these a chance. Well I must have very tiny calves! I did measure and they are around 13 inches if I'm doing it right. I have attached a photo to show how much room there is up there, though the rest of the boot is very snug. Needless to say these had to go back. So disappointed as I need a fur lined boot for the winter.

The boots are awesome if you have athletic calves. Just don't expect them to be tight if you have smaller calves!

Classic and Comforable, Dressy and Sporty, for Rain and Snow

I didn't know what to expect, and don't usually like to buy shoes online. However, I love these boots. They are the ideal, classic, tall riding boot. They are soft, thick, dark brown, buttery leather that comes up to the knee. I love how high they ride as they conform to the leg. I am athletic, and have big, muscular calves, so I was worried, after I read some reviews, that they might not fit. However, I wear layers, and pants tucked inside the boot, with room to spare. They have give, and elastic so they conform to whatever I need. The zipper seems strong and sturdy. I live in a rainy area, so I bought them because they are waterproof, and I have been wearing them every day. THEY ARE so COMFORTABLE, with a fleecy lining, and soft, cushioned soles. I need them for rain; however, they would do terrific in the snow because of the grip of the rubber sole, and they heavy, warm, fleece, lining. They are dressy, but not as dressy as another pair of waterproof black leather riding boots with hard soles. Still, they are so fun. They go everywhere. I wear them tucked into heavy pants for the peasant look; with skirts for the dressy look, for walks in the rain for the outdoor sporty look, and they keep me dry and warm. The one thing I haven't done with them yet is to go riding. I wouldn't want to do winter without them.

Great leather! Love the lining!

This is the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. I was a little worried about them being narrow, like I don't think I'll be able to wear boot socks with them, but thin knee highs work fine. And the lining means that I'll stay warm anyway, though since I live in Georgia, I'm not that worried about the warmth factor. But the leather is beautiful and thick and it feels like walking on a cloud. I got these with the 25% discount too, which made them all the more attractive for me.

Get these before they are all gone!

Waterproof, comfortable, durable

I am really impressed with these boots. Been wearing them for 3 weeks and I've worn them in the rain a few times - my feet have not gotten wet at all, which was the main reason I bought these. The leather is gorgeous and really soft. Color is pretty dark, but its still definitely brown, not black. I have small calves and the calf is sometimes a bit tight (even with the stretchy panel), so if you're worried about the calves being too tight, I'd maybe go with the wide calf.

Also, I'm 5' 4" and the boots go right up to my knees, so they are a good height.

They scratch somewhat easily, but small scratches are easy to buff out.

Overall, I LOVE these boots, and I'm so glad I chose them. I wear the s**t out of my boots and these have been great so far.

Nice looking/okay comfort. Not for the wide foot/calf.

These boots are classic and fairly comfortable. I must say though, they run narrow both in the bootbed and shaft. I have a fairly narrow foot so for me it is not a problem and an avg. sized calf but if you are wider in the foot or have a fairly athletic calf these might not be for you. I wore them with skinny jeans ok but prefer the fit with leggings only. For this reason I might return them because although they are a nice looking boot and pretty comfortable I prefer a slightly looser fit and I don't think going up a half size will do much. Clarks are generally a hit but these are so-so for comfort and fit compared to some of the shoes. I do find their boots more difficult to find a perfect fit.

Would have been nice...too narrow

I wanted a pair of waterproof boots that I can wear at work. The boots arrived fairly quickly. The leather is tough and not baby soft. It has nice insulation so it would kept me warm during the early morning commute. I usually wear a 7.5 in most brands. I had to return as it was very narrow and I have never had to wear wide shows ever. There was still enough room in the toe area. Unfortunately, I'd either have to wear it without socks or incredibly thin socks in order to fit. I tried it with mid-weight socks but it was really tight. I suppose that I could have kept the boots and tried to stretch it but I didn't want to take the chance that it may still not fit. Sadly, I have to return. I was going to buy the next size up but the price went up $40!

These have become my new every day boots. I live in Chicago and was pleasantly surprised to find out these have a warm fleece lining. I don't think I'll wear them on days with deep slushy snow (that's what my Bogs are for), but these are so warm and comfortable walking around on 30 some degree days. I've walked to school to pick up my children and stood out on the playground without my feet getting cold. The soles are rubber and nice and thick. Love these.

Nice quality boot
