I ordered the largest size, which was supposed to have 1/4" holes, just what I needed for my 1/4" chock cord. However, when they arrived, the holes were not the proper 1/4", and were way too small for the 1/4" shock cord. Thinking I was just shipped the wrong item, I exchanged the 1st order and reported the issue. But when the replacements came, they were the same too-small size. So I returned those as well. Amazon was great during this process, but the item descriptions regarding hole sizes are still incorrect.

I'd hoped to use these as spring locks for an inserted band or string into elasticized pants that are too big for me, but alas the springs are too weak to hold the size I set in place. I haven't tried it yet with an elastic lace to see if the spring is strong enough for that as I ordered next LOCK LACES (Elastic No Tie Shoelaces) (White, 48-Inch) and trimmed them to size and they work great, though cost more than these.

Hobby Lobby employees looked at me blankly when I described I wanted to purchase these for myself. So glad to find them online. Also bought some of the barrel-kind that are not split for two separate cords, and I have found that using one of each type together works fabulously for adding draw-strings that won't come loose to ankles (for holding pants below the knee) and at the waist.

I use them in conjunction with shock-cord elastic which makes a huge difference.

I bought these to replace the plastic lock on my drysuit boots. The work great and as long as I rinse the salt off after my dive, they don't seem to rust. Even if they finally fail after a dozen dives, at the price, who cares?
