I bought this set to replace the cheap plastic nut and saddle on an old acoustic guitar I had. It fit perfectly, but I had to take it to a shop to have the nut sanded down for correct intonation. Rather than paying 80 dollars or so for a new bone nut, bone saddle, and installation I bought this set here and let a luthier do the fine tuning. I saved about 60 bucks thanks to this cheap set. With the money I saved I also replaced the cheapo plastic bridge pins with ebony ones and now my guitar sounds great!

I bought two sets of these and could not be happier. I replaced my daughters 3/4 scale Arcadia guitar nut and bridge with these. They fit, perfectly without any modifications and sounded 200% better than the plastic crap that came with the guitar. The rough string action at the new bone nut was even lower than what came stock, which isn't saying much. I cut the nut to proper height, using stewmac nut files and now the guitar plays smooth, like butter and sounds like a $400 guitar. I also replaced the nut and bridge of my Fender acoustic, I had to sand a little material off of both parts for a perfect fit but it was no big deal and far less than I expected to do. After everything was installed, nut cut, intonations precisely filed into the bridge it now sounds great.

What a difference! I replaced the Bridge, nut, and saddle on a beater guitar and it was transformed. I've ordered more of these for the other acoustics. The sound was a little more crisp, yet warm. The biggest gain was a boost in the sustain -- just a huge change.

I loved getting bone nuts and saddles for this cheap. I needed two because, well...I messed up once. This was my first time setting up my own guitar and it took me a while!

My Taylor SG mini sounds SO much better now - probably because the action was way too high before, but maybe the material change from plastic to bone helped a bit. Since my guitar is a smaller one, I had to sand a lot off of these, but it wasn't too bad. The only issue I had is that the high e, b, and g strings weren't sloped enough on the saddle to allow lower action. When I sanded the bottom of the saddle evenly, the measurements, from low e to high e, were 0.100", 0.095", 0.090", 0.090", 0.085", 0.080". According to this guide ( http://thbecker.net/guitar_playing/guitars_and_setup/setup_page_06.html ,which was AWESOME for a beginner like me), it should be 0.100", 0.095", 0.090", 0.085", 0.080", 0.075". I took a bit longer to sand the top down, but it plays like butter now.

I highly recommend these!

I had bought the cheapest guitar I could find because at 60 and a crippled hand I wasn't sure if I could play. In the process of trying to make it easier to play I got the nut to low. I ordered this set and installed the nut today. Had to sand maybe .030 off and it fit perfect. The guitar sounded good when I got it but now it sounds better and the intonation is perfect when it wasn't quite perfect when I got it. I wanted to try it with just the new nut before I put in the new bridge but it is so perfect now I think I will leave it alone for now.

I thought I was smarter than I am. I've been playing Guitar and repairing my own for over 40 years. I saw this set and thought What a great price. WRONG!!!!! The description lead me to believe the items were made out of BONE, they are NOT! Talk about False Advertising. I can't believe I fell for it. I even ordered Two sets. Its not the money, 14 bucks is not a big deal, but the deception! THESE ITEMS ARE PLASTIC. They are the color of bone. Shame on me. I hope people see this review and don't do what I did. This is the first time I ever gave a product 1 star, I wish I could give it less. Buyer Beware.

I am very satisfied with this purchase! It came with two nuts and two saddles that are of the highest quality and made of bone. I replaced the plastic nut and saddle on a guitar and have a backup of each. This greatly improved the tone and sustain of the guitar and it sounds way better than before. Instalation was very easy because the nut is already slotted and the bridge is compensated for intonation. Only some minor sanding to get the perfect height was necessary. I highly recommend this product, will be buying more for the rest of my acoustics, and they are very well priced for such high quality parts.
