Excellent alternative to higher priced "name brand" tuners. Quality is every bit as good as Sloane tuners found on Stewart MacDonald or other guitar part retailers. The dragon and phoenix design and antique finish give my newly bought fan fret classical guitar a great look adding what I think is a elegant, if not "cool" addition to the guitar. Another thing - maybe it's just me, so take this with a grain of salt - the tuners have a little weight to them - not much, but noticeable compared to standard tuners. The point being is that I feel the weight give a little extra tone to the guitar due to the weight of the tuners. It's as if they act as an inertia stop at the headstock thereby keeping the vibration of the neck and body wood a bit longer. The result being a little extra sustain and power in the guitar as a whole. Again, take this with grain of salt - I have no real evidence other my own ears. It's a real conversation piece when folks ask to look at my guitar. Highly recommend!

these are very nice tuners. i opted for the silver finish because they were less expensive by about $10 but would have liked the antique bronze finish better- still very nice looking and not plasticy- simply living within my means. what i am very pleased with is how robust these tuners are. nicely made, aluminum instead of plastic and the teeth on the turning part are well crafted. not on the guitar yet but a lot nicer than the (also good) last set I bought on amazon from another brand that was more affordable. i think you have to spend over $35 to get into this class of tuners. just made better

I bought these to replace the factory ones on an old vintage guitar.
these tuners are really beautiful and well-crafted. Installation was simple.
They work fantastically and keep the guitar in tune very well. The 18 to 1 ratio makes fine-tuning very easy and precise.

Once installed, they cranked up very quick and held the tuning. Over several days, the guitar is still in tune, and it just may be me,
but I noticed an improvement in tone right away. It's like playing a whole new guitar.

Too bad all guitars don't come with them.

Bottom Line: superb quality and a serious upgrade. Buy them!

These tuners are AMAZING! They give my old classical nylon a flamenco look that's reminiscent of ol' school vintage. If you're a spanish guitarist, you'll LOVE these. I got them installed by a repair man at Guitar Center. Works like a charm. They secured nicely with all the screws that came with the box. I LOVE THEM. HIGHLY recommended!

After some hours searching the web, these looked like a good color combination and gear ratio to replace the cheap tuners that came on my new Yamaha SLG200N. I guess Yamaha had to scrimp somewhere in order to keep the same price while upgrading the electronics.

When the tuners arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at their considerable heft, and happy with the subdued high-end looking patina and engraving. Before installing them, I thought that the only missing thing that might make them perfect, would be the addition of ball bearing rollers such as on Sloane tuners, but that would have quadrupled the price, which would have been half the price of the guitar.

With some lingering doubts due to the relatively low price, I replaced the Yammy's original, flimsy and gaudy looking head tuners, and then gave just a squirt of WD-40 in the peg holes and on the gears. I don't think ball bearings would have made any difference and could make these turn any smoother. Those beautiful black knobs are butter smooth in turning, yet firmly hold their position, and the high gear ratio makes fine tuning easier than the majority of tuning heads.

These tuning heads are a significant upgrade to my guitar, both in looks and performance, and at a very reasonable price. After comparing them to some tuners sold at high-end shops here in Tokyo, I think this was my wisest choice. I highly recommend them over some name-brand tuners that are many times the price. A very happy customer here!
