suggest practicing first on a different piece. I bought a sofa table off of Kijiji, painted the table top with a very pale aqua colored paint, I used a glue gun to attach a white rope around edge, then a thin coat of epoxy. Immediately sprinkled on aqua colored glass chips, consistency of coarse sand, with some silver fleck throughout, inset a variety of small shells, small starfish, pieces of coral etc. before it was cured. Then proceeded with 3 more layers of epoxy. The rope acted as a dam to get the epoxy deep enough to cover the shells, although some of them poke through. I decided i liked that look, one more coat would have completely covered. Covered the rope also, and down the side. I was trying to simulate shells in water, it turned out great. Now that I have practiced, I am doing our bar countertop, with partly looking like water, and then graduating into sandy beach (purchased pool filter silica type sand, it is perfect) with shells. Our entertainment area has a nautical theme. The challenge was to figure out how to stick the glass, shells and sand. Initially tried gluing but the best way was the thin layer of epoxy itself. It cured in place, subsequent layers covered fine, making sure epoxy flowed to fill in any openings under
shells to prevent air bubbles. I'll post pictures when completed

It's my second time ordering this product. I really like it which is why I ordered it again, although this time the containers were only filled about 3/4 full. Kinda disappointing. It's a good product and I'll continue to order and reccomend it but hopefully they come full next time.

This epoxy resin does the trick. It is very, very thick compared to others I've used, but it levels out just the same. This brand does seem to cure quickly in a mixing cup, so don't let it sit too long. Don't mix more than you can use in 30 minutes.

Excellent for casting and hardens perfectly clear. It takes time to dry (overnight) but the slower hardening time allows any air pockets to raise to the surface. Read and follow the recommendations. There are recommended additives for thicker castings and the temperature of the room is important.

Worked great. I used pigments from Pro Marine Supplies Inc. to color it.
