I love these bars... They are delicious. Perfect size, portion, etc. Exactly what I am looking for. I was a huge fan at first.
Now, I am finding a huge issue with quality control and contamination. I just discovered Epic Bars within the last 3 weeks. In that time, I have been to 5 different Whole Foods Markets around the country in 4 different cities because I travel a lot for work. In each store that carries Epic Bars, there was product which was puffed-up like little pillows. I am not sure what the issue is EXACTLY. It seems like some kind of bacterial problem. I Emailed Epic to tell them about it but they assured me there were no issues going forward. In fact, they let me know about two chicken flavors that they have: sriracha and sesame BBQ, which was exciting to me.
So, I trusted them and ordered some product from Amazon.
When I received the order, both boxes of chicken flavored bars had contaminated product. The pictures show an ok package, an infected package, and then both packages side by side; all from the order I placed on Amazon.
In both boxes, 9/12 bars were puffed up the day the delivery arrived at my house; i.e. they hadn't sat on a shelf for a long time or anything. So, there is definitely a problem with their packaging / manufacturing process at Epic.

I love these bars but lately they've been growing bacteria and making the packages ballon up. Last time about 1/3 of the box was bad, today I opened a new one and 10 out of 12 bars are bad. Not sure what's going on here but I'll change my review once they address this issue.
Update: They've fixed the packaging problem apparently. Back to ordering these.

If you want a protein bar that doesn't taste like a candy bar, Epic bars are perfect. They're actually made with meat, not protein powder. Delivery was on time & I'll definitely order again. (Be aware: the consistency is odd, but all the Epic flavors taste great once you get past the crumbled but moist jerky-ish texture.)
