This cutlery is really great -- it's made mostly from plants (corn) in the USA in this company's factory in Indiana and yet it doesn't break or bend like regular plastic cutlery. I have been using this company's products for 8 years and it seems when they redesigned their product to make it in their own factory the quality got lots better. This new cutlery which we ordered in the smaller quantity packs is really strong -- much stronger than their old designs. I'm happy to give them 5 stars.

Misleading description and reviews. This product is at the top of the search results for "compostable utensils" however the product is NOT compostable and doesn't say as much until you dig down on the manufacturers website. Shame on me for not reading as closely, shame on them for writing such a misleading description that says every word as close to compostable as they can.

Very happy with these.
I hate the idea of tossing plastic utensils. You can't recycle them in most municipalities, and they end up in a landfill or worse, floating in the ocean or washed up ashore somewhere (Note: I've seen the effects of this first-hand in Belize).

On the contrary, these utensils are biodegradable, so I can feel good knowing that they'll dissolve and breakdown in the landfill.
Yes, they are a little more money than plastic options, and yes, they might bend a bit if you use them for piping hot food, but those minor sacrifices are more than worth the environmental benefit.

Everyone should use these if they have any care for our environment. Make a difference and buy these!

I'm happy to be using something that wont clutter landfills and this package is pretty useful for the most part. My only problem is that the knives are the smallest I've seen and are rather awkward to use compared to other disposable flatware. Will probably try other earth-friendly brands to see if they do knives better.

I really like this product. It's so much better than the plastic forks you get in bulk anywhere else. They withstand a lot of heat for plant-based utensils and I feel less guilty using them day to day. ***not compostable

My only complaint is that it comes with 250 forks, 150 spoons, and 100 knives. I end up with a plethora of spoons, extra forks, and NO KNIVES. Most people eat meals with a knife and fork. In addition, the price fluctuations on Amazon suck. One week they are $25 and the next they are $18. Amazon needs a fair price guarantee.

I bought these to use at a 3-day festival for a group of 8 of us. We didn't want to have to wash too many dishes or silverware, but also felt guilty using plastic. These were a great alternative as they are eco-friendly, which made us feel much less guilty when tossing them out. We had extras that I brought home and whenever my husband and I are feeling particularly lazy, we use them. They're pretty sturdy; maybe not for a steak or anything like that, but sturdy enough for most foods.
