I normally really like Garnier Fructis products - I think they all smell great and tend to do what they claim to. In particular, I've loved the items I've used in this Damage Eraser line: the shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner do an excellent job of making my hair feel softer, silkier, and more manageable. I'd even go so far as to say that the line is really one of the best that can be found in the drugstore in terms of really benefiting one's hair.

My expectations were sky high for this product, but I'm sorry to say that I was horribly disappointed. I don't usually leave 1 star reviews; even if I find a product lacking, I still try to mention some aspect of it that wasn't awful. In this case, though, I"m just not able to do that. I used this many times in order to make sure that I gave it a fair shot and that what I experienced wasn't a fluke; initially, I followed the instructions to the letter. After that, I tried leaving it on for longer and then shorter periods of time, and I even tried mixing a bit of it in with conditioners, but each time, the results were awful.

In the shower, my hair felt coated and dry. I thought that would change once I rinsed out the product, but no such luck. Once it was dried, my hair felt - for lack of a better word - gross. It felt like straw, but with a coating on it that was almost sticky. I had a terrible time brushing it out, because it was a tangled, sticky mess. Making matters worse is that it looked so unhealthy and frizzy. And that happened every time that I used it.

The bottom line, in my view: the shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner/mask in this line are great. This product? Is a fail. Maybe it would work better for people with hair that's a different texture than mine, which is really thick and coarse, but even still, this isn't a product that I'd recommend at all.

When I purchased this I thought it was going to be something like a deep conditioner with a creamy texture but its not. The texture is close to that of shampoo with an almost glue-like feel. I thought it was kind of weird at first but I followed the directions and I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with the results.

I have long dry hair that tangles very easily. While this didn't really help with the appearance of my hair (wavey and frizzy) I noticed all day long that I was able to run my fingers through my hair freely without running into massive rat nests like usual and that it was softer than if I hadn't used anything else with my shampoo and contioner. If I had paid an arm and leg for it I would've expected more but for the price, it was worth the buy.

My hair had been feeling so dry from summer and high/lowlights every couple of months (works for grey coverage). My hair texture was complete straw~~I asked a few hairstylists and was simply told that my hair was actually in good condition and that everyone is complaining about the same thing just from summer sun and activities. It was at the point that if I took a section and lifted it up parallel to the ground, if I let go, it would stay in that position!! This is with using a deep conditioner as a daily conditioner as well as leave in balm/conditioning products and Moroccan oil! I picked up this Garnier Heal & Seal on a whim at the drugstore (will repurchase through Amazon), and my hair had "weight" to it again!! It honestly felt like after color w/ toner at the salon (which eventually washes out & doesn't have that feeling anymore). So glad I can achieve this every day at home! Also, I am not one who can pull off second-day hair...at least not well! My hair which used to be stick-straight was behaving especially crazy in the morning, crimped from how I slept. After using the Heal & Seal, I woke up with my hair how it used to be~~silky & straight and I showered without doing the whole hair routine because it still looked good from day before! Give it a try~~I am so pleased!!

I normally do not use drugstore brand hair products b/c I am very particular about my shampoo & conditioner. But i have to say this product is an exception! Very nice product. Keeps my hair nice and smooth and sleek. Has nice slip to it when applying to wet hair after washing. Good to get tangles out when hair is wet. And it smell great! Of note, maybe a little cheaper to buy it in store like target/walmart than online.

I have thin, fine, medium length hair that is super dry and kind of fried looking from years of bleached blond highlights and I just recently tried this Heal & Seal to see if it would help. It definitely makes my hair softer and less damaged looking. I use it last, after shampooing and conditioning, then leave it in for a minute or two. Like another reviewer said, the consistency is more like a shampoo except that it coats your hair like a glaze. You really need to rinse well, otherwise it will likely leave a sticky residue. That's the only thing I can think of having caused the issues that the reviewer who rated it one star had, because as long as it is thoroughly rinsed out, it leaves your hair soft and more manageable. I've had the same sticky/tacky issue with other shampoos and conditioners when I haven't rinsed them out well enough.
