My daughter loves the fruit mixed combinations. I tasted this one and it is like apple sauce but you have a hint of the brown rice in the aftertaste. It is appropriately bland for a babies' palate but just sweet enough to make it interesting. The consistency and color is close to applesauce as well. The ingredients are pretty simple: organic pears, organic apples and organic brown rice. It is important to me that my daughter's baby food has the fewest possible ingredients and the ingredients that are in the food are simple. This certainly fits the bill.
I have never had any issue with Ella's products. I like the pouches because they are convenient and I can bring them along with a spoon and a bib for a quick snack. I know that some folks are concerned or scared of mold or other issues with the baby food that you can't see with the pouch design but I usually squeeze a bit onto a napkin to check and then I taste it to be sure it tastes normal. I attached a picture of this flavor on a napkin so you can see the consistency and color.
Most important of all, my daughter loves this particular brand and flavor. She gets very excited to see the pouch come out at meal time!

I was so excited to feed this to my baby as he loved the ones we originally bought at Whole Foods. When this arrived I opened the box & accidentally fed my baby a bad pouch as there was mold!!!!!! Yuck!!!!!!! Inspecting the pouch I noticed there was a tiny hole on the bottom underneath the pouch. Am I worried?! Yes?! Will I buy this again?! No thank you! I will be returning tomorrow. So sad as I loved the ingredients but I don't trust the quality control or want to risk moldy pouches!
