Great for everyday use or backpacking adventures, the lightweight, tough, custom-fitting Kurgo Baxter Dog Backpack is built strong to withstand rugged outdoor conditions. Its unique adjustable saddle bag construction with eight different adjustment points enables to adjust the Baxter to fit most dog sizes and proportions
The Baxter's two saddle bags (with a 3.75-liter volume) offer liberal room for adventure essentials, such as food, treats, toys, first-aid supplies and travel bowls. It includes a rear-mounted leash hook that works like a harness for pups that need to be on their lead. The ergonomic padded spine support contours to the dog’s back for a comfortable fit and provides weight distribution for the two saddlebags. The Baxter also features a large handle to help dogs over rock scrambles or extract them from water.

I have a 45 lbs. husky and picked up this pack, it's been great so far. You put it on by pulling over the head and resting on her back… attach three buckles and 20 seconds later you're good to go. Capacity is limited but I was okay with that, she carries our food and waste bags/collapsable water bowl, and whatever else I feel like sticking in there. Just having a pack on her keeps her from pulling and gives her a job. Took her for 6 miles the other day and it was comfortable for her the whole time, scrambling rocks and going over/under fallen trees no prob. I still use her regular collar for the leash... Just works better for me, especially when the dog is behind you.
One improvement would be to make the portion that sits on the dogs back more breathable. She's a husky and doesn't care for the heat. I wet her back down with water before putting it on and that helps. Also the clip for the leash is located at the rear of the pack, you don't have much control with it attached there. It would be better suited at the front in my opinion.
First pack for a dog that I've bought so I don't have a lot to compare it to. It does the job I want and it seems comfortable and secure on her. Would buy again should it ever wear out.

I run with my dog and used this to hold keys and poop bags. I was very impressed until recently. My dog pulled me to greet another dog and the seam that holds the leash completely broke off.

I picked this up for my Bully Basset. He's 51 pounds and this pack fits perfect. He can walk and even run with the pack, not a problem. It's very adjustable and seems to be high quality. The Kurgo website mentions a lifetime no-hassle guarantee. I hope I don't need it but considering this pack will get used outdoors, possibly snagged here and there, it's nice to know it has some sort of backing. The pockets are the size I was hoping for. I do wish there was some sort of strap inside to hold a 16 oz water bottle in place from shifting, perhaps even a divider pocket going length wise so it could be used or not used without sacrificing any of the space. Either way the standard 16 oz person water bottle fits fine. I have a 20 oz gulpy dog bottle that doesn't fit so I did have to order a 10 oz version. The orange is good for visibility and the reflection works great. If I come into any issues in the future I'll be sure to edit the review appropriately.
Due to the quality of this pack I've added Kurgo to my list of approved items for my pooch. I'll be picking up a jacket from them soon, hoping for the same quality.
