The flavor, color, and texture are good but it doesn’t reconstitute into anything that resembles fresh spinach leaves, so don’t expect it. It is more like finely chopped, frozen spinach that is well cooked. It is nothing like canned spinach, not at all slimy.
I have used it in soups, dips, pasta dishes, rice dishes and egg dishes, all with good results.
Crumbling it into powder using my blender, I added “stealth nutrition” into hamburgers, meatloaves, and sauces for the grandkids. They never even suspected it was there.
It is very helpful when cooking for one or for anyone who can’t get out to shop very often. The container is light weight and easy to handle.
This has the same nutritional value as fresh without the waste and there are no additives or sodium to worry about.
I love a fresh spinach salad but for most other uses of spinach I think I will use this from now on.

I mix two cups of this spinach with 1/2 cup whole grain cous cous, one pouch ground beef (Libbys Seasoned Beef Crumbles Pouch 3 tbsp butter, and a cheese powder pack from a mac and cheese in a Ziploc Vacuum Refill Bags, Quart size.

I add about 1.25 cups of boiling water to the bag (they're microwave safe). Makes a really delicious just add water meal for backpacking trips that is way healthier than the prepackaged camp meals.

I added it to food while on a long kayak trip as one of my veggie options. I ended up adding it to almost every meal .The spinach did not seem to affect the taste of the food much so I found it to be a good way to add extra vitamins to most any meal. The piece were not very big even when re-hydrated.

This would be a good thing to use if you have a child that is stubborn about eating veggies. Mix in some of this into different foods. It will add green to the food without changing the flavor. After they eat something that they really like with the green in it tell them there was spinach in it and show them the container and some left over spinach. It helps to smooth the transition.

I bought this because I thought it would be a convenient way to have spinach on hand to add to things I was making. But I really do not like the consistency of the cooked spinach: it's like baby food. Rather mushy. And the cooking instructions are a little wierd to, giving a rather large range of how long you should cook it. I would not buy this product again.
